Molly Darnell, the only teacher to be shot/injured in the November 30, 2021 shooting at Oxford High School has filed a lawsuit against Oxford Community Schools and five former school officials. Ms. Darnell suggests that warning signs of impending violence were ignored by individuals who interacted with Ethan Crumbley prior to the shooting.

I hope her new attorney is successful in getting her a new trial, at the very least. Among other issues, her legal respresentation was woefully inadequate.

Who is her new attorney? I thought she still had the same one.

According to the article posted above, her attorney is Michael Dezsi.

“There’s a reason why no parent in America has ever been held responsible for the criminal acts of their child in relation to a school shooting,” said Crumbley’s attorney Michael Dezsi. “It is because Mrs. Crumbley committed no crime. This case should be concerning for parents everywhere.”

Her best shot at a new trial iMO is ineffective counsel. That woman was a mess.

“No witnesses were given anything for their testimony, and there was no immunity – these witnesses testified without any promises or protection whatsoever. The Michigan Court of Appeals has already reviewed the legal issues raised by Jennifer Crumbley and rejected them. Where there are egregious facts like these – where two parents ignored the obvious signs that their son was in crisis, bought him a gun and failed to secure it, and then failed to disclose the existence of the gun or take their son home when he drew out his plans, including writing “blood everywhere” with a picture of a gun and a body with bleeding bullet wounds, they can and should be prosecuted. ” statement in response to defense assertions that school was given a "pass" from prosecution in exchange for testimony by Chief Assistant David Williams

I need more than one "like" response to this statement. There is no positive perspective that these parents have contributed. Just....tragedy.
