This is exactly this kind of thing I’m referring to about Nikki manipulating truth. It’s basically nikki’s Attempt to present a “character witness” for Franz....

Now, I had never once heard of this person Brynn Styles until this article... and she NOT friends with Ally on Facebook, and Ally never once mentioned this person.

Doesnt it seem a little odd to anyone that Nikki couldn’t find a “character witness” for Franz that was, oh I don’t know, a little more local? Not even within the state of Michigan? And not anyone who’s seen or spoken to Ally in over 15 years?
Again, I call BS!

Keep in mind, this is the same Nikki who adamantly denies ever saying to me what she did actually say in that text I just showed you.
You didn't respond to the request of showing us the messages you showed Chris Hanson.

I showed you the one text I’m going to show you. At this point many of these texts are too important to the investigation. The only reason I showed the ONE that I did was because I’ve sent it to every reporter out there and no one ever wanted to report on it.
The rest of the info will come out in court.
I’ve given you more than enough too see where this investigation is headed.

Thank you for answering my questions, Combatmedic. I am shocked to hear the police did not inform you of Ally’s condition and your co-worker took that responsibility. I can’t imagine being at work and having anything similar to what you experienced.

I understand how it must feel to live with someone for a long time and suddenly they can never be there again. And I suppose eventually even the best of friends move on and it isn’t as much a priority to them as to you. Sad fact of life, isn’t it?

Is there anything you can think of that we can possibly help with to bring this to a closed case?

ETA:
am I right in assuming that you have given copies of these texts to law enforcement?

Thank you and at this moment no. We Just have to let LE work the case. Trust me when I say I know how hard it is for everyone to stay patient.

And yes, I’ve always forward suspicious texts to LE as soon as I received them. So when Nikki claims to be shocked by my suspicions of Franz, and also claims maybe My “recent suspicions” of Franz are just attacks in response of HER suspecting ME.... LE knows how long I’ve privatly suspected Franz. They also know Nikki’s claim to be “shocked” is total BS.
She’s known of my suspicions of Franz for a VERY long time now. When she discovered I was also being interviewed by CWD she knew this was coming. She panicked and that’s what we’ve been seeing from Nikki recently.

So for now we just wait.... if there are further developments I can share in the future I definitely will. That’s all I can really share for now. Hopefully this give everyone more to work with than you had before.

Do you think that Nikki believes that Franz is involved (but won't admit to it)?
IF he is involved, then either she is in denial, or she is covering up.

Did she have any friends ? No-one seems to be speaking up for her. We need some info on relationship with parents and relationship or lack thereof with the boyfriend or ex.

Is Nikki just in denial? Or actively covering up? This great question and something I struggle with still.

I STRONGLY believe there is some version of emotional/psychology “battered women’s syndrome” in play here. In beginning I thought maybe just denial, but as she continued to dig herself into a pit of lies in recent weeks I believe there’s more to it then just denial. I believe if Franz hasn’t flat out confessed to her, she (at a minimum) strongly suspects Franz.

With that said, and even considering all the terrible things Nikki has said about me, I believe Nikki is in danger, and I’m not the only one who thinks this, or told LE this.

If Franz feels he’s lost control of Nikki at any point, or if he feels she’s said too much to me in the beginning (like that text)... I believe he may try to kill her, and/or run off to Germany (if he hasn’t already ran to Germany, but more on this later...). Both are very real possibilities at the moment.

  • #368
If your feeling of an "escape to Germany” is feasible, I feel very sad for Nikki. So far, I do get the feeling she is terribly heartbroken over losing her daughter and is grasping for any understanding of the “why.”.

  • #369
Regarding the friend's comments:
I find it odd that the friend brought up Franz taking Ally to Germany when she was younger. Interestingly, Franz also brought that up in his interview.

Over 30 years of family memories, and both people said the same thing? My hinky meter is going off.

IF Franz is involved, what might have been the motive?

it seems more likely to me he'll do it out of wanting to hurt and punish his wife by taking the one thing away from her in the world that means the most than being angry at his daughter.

coulda got jealous of their relationship and maybe felt he was losing control at some point (maybe ally is going to help her mom separate from him and he find outs, maybe BOTH her and her mom were going to go on the trip to florida just the two of them etc. ).

some comments look more suspicious now like that the parents say their instinct was its a random attack in interviews when the police suspect from the beginning its more likely she knew the killer.

this was a weird story i read where the father and wife shared a tiny home and he didn't speak to her for 20 years after he got jealous of the attention she gave the kids when they were young

buckwheats, :welcome: to Websleuths and thanks for joining this discussion. Your thoughts about a possible motive are intriguing.

What does that have to do with anything? Very strange reasoning IMHO.

Why is that strange? Serious question; I’m curious as to what ya think.

Speculation, but maybe she didn’t want to get her phone wet if is started raining again? Could have had a cracked screen or something, too. Those phones are expensive.

I just read this thread from beginning to end, and wow. It's rare that we have the perspective of someone so close to the victim, so thank you CombatMedic for sharing what you have and what you can. I can imagine it's frustrating and heartbreaking to go through the loss of a loved one AND then deal with the innuendo, accusations, and all the rest that goes with a homicide investigation. So please take what I say in the spirit it is intended. I don't disbelieve your experiences with Nikki, but I do question your interpretation that the logical conclusion is that Franz is responsible. But again - we do not have the information that you have, that I hope LE has, only what has been reported in mainstream media, which as we know well has it's own agenda in presenting a good story.

So personally, I have a very hard time making the long leap from what we know to Franz being the perpetrator. Perhaps it's my own lack of imagination, or the rarity of a father killing a grown daughter (are there other examples of this actually occurring?), but I just can't get to a strong enough motive here. The only thing I can think of is past abuse (sexual or violent) that was going to somehow come to light, and there is no indication of that. I read the interview with Franz, and chalked his somewhat abrupt answers up to his not speaking English as a native language and general German-ness, which could also speak to his intolerance of Nikki's feelings. He probably has learned how to just get over things, if he was in Vietnam. I'm just struggling with this but I know I don't have the full picture either.

If it wasn't for what police said about Alexandra knowing her killer, I would be much more inclined to believe random thrill kill - but I suppose a stalker in the neighborhood is still possible, she could know them after all if she was a regular jogger. A stalker though usually has a sexual motive/assault (ie. Katrina Vetrano and Vanessa Marcotte) and even without a SA, it is usually a much more personal type of kill. After the outcome of the Michele Roode-Boyd case, I'm more cautious about jumping to the "ex-boyfriend or ex-husband did it" and remain open to all possibilities. And as LE said, everyone is still a suspect. Regardless, I am interested in the truth and justice for Alex, that is all.

Hello everyone. I am just wondering if there was so much animosity in the family, mainly towards Ally, why would she move home, and then make that long trip to work every day. If the ill will did not start until after she move home, what caused it and why did she stay. And, finally, how could a parent kill their own child; did they have an argument that a day, or something that happened that finally caused the father to break. I am sorry if these questions have been asked and answered already. Thanks to everyone here and a special thanks to Tricia, who makes it all possible. Katt

I don't recall hearing/reading about the shift/shifts Ally worked at Providence Park. Some hospital nurses work 12-hour shifts but not necessarily consecutive days, while others might work a regular 40-hour week, and still others only work weekends. Perhaps Ally's boyfriend can enlighten us about the days/hours that Ally usually worked.

I agree that there is no evidence for the father's involvement, and a grown woman with a good job would not have moved back home if her relationship was so toxic. The long commute makes this scenario even less likely. Lastly the fact that another suspect in the murder is suggesting it, with absolutely no evidence, makes me feel he's trying to divert attention away from his own involvement.

I can't move past a possible motive for Ally's father to have murdered his only child. Unless or until there is evidence of a motive for Franz's involvement, I'm inclined to agree that he is not the perpetrator.
