Judging by the obit comments AB certainly knew a lot of people. That's a lot for LE to go thru, if, as they say, it was someone she knew.

CM2121 showed his last message with AB that morning and now I would like to know who saw her last and whether she messaged anyone else. She went to sleep, we know that and then went for her run. Did she walk the dog before that or see anyone else, I wonder?

Is it correct that her FB was closed down - does anyone know?

We have no idea if that text was sent that morning. It doesn’t have any dates.

Has anyone heard if Ally had a favorite color?

From CWD show:
They say the reason you and Ally broke up was because she found out you are on a dating site.

"That is not the reason we broke up," said Sutherland.

Were you on the dating site?

"I was on a dating site, yes," said Sutherland.

Even though you were seeing Ally?

"We had grown apart because of the marriage thing. The marriage thing was a huge issue," said Sutherland.

Wes Sutherland says they'd reconciled just before Ally Brueger was murdered, and were planning to live together again.

If the bolded statement is true, and Wes confirmed he was on dating sites [but not the reason they broke up] with his reply (also bolded), I totally understand why she moved home. However, had Wes stayed on dating sites after they decided to "reconcile"?

Does it matter?
How can anyone answer without knowing the context? It might mean nothing or it might mean something. Hence the what did he say, when, why, etc., questions. All part of good sleuthing. :)

As per the rules we can decide for ourselves about what a VI tells us. CM2121 has provided a very personal text which I choose to believe was sent when he said it was. You are free to make your own mind up, of course.

If the fbi is involved. Then the killer was hired out of state in this situation.

Or the killer has killed others in a similar fashion before and is a serial killer

Because why else would the fbi show up or care about this particular murder unless the killer is a serial or resides out of state. Jmo

Last note. If CMedic is innocent and wants to truly catch her killer.

Then why speak to her old boyfriends and their parents?

What if they were involved and you just out there showing them love while blaming the parents.

Because I would suspect everyone and not try to align with old boyfriends of hers if it was me.

Jmo.

Has the FBI been mentioned as being involved come from a source other than our VI? I'm not altogether convinced they are involved.

No only from VI.

I think you're right and it's more about local LE using the FBI's resources than the FBI doing the investigating.

Freep, 2016:
The Michigan State Police has sought help with this case from its behavioral science department, as well as behavioral science analysts with the FBI.

From FBI.gov:
What We Investigate - Violent Crime
The FBI's top priorities are national security threats, but the Bureau also continues to play a key role in combating violent crime in big cities and local communities across the United States.

The FBI concentrates on crime problems that pose major threats to American society. Significant violent crime incidents such as mass killings, sniper murders, and serial killings can paralyze entire communities and stretch state and local law enforcement resources to their limits.

I found a few old articles about the FBI being called in to assist, and some speculation it might have been because three female joggers were murdered in a short period of time. There might be something more recent about the FBI taking over the case but if so I haven't seen it.

When did you come to the United States?

I arrived here in 1966, when I was 18 years old. I had two sisters already living here. One of the conditions of coming to the United States was that I was to sign with the U.S. Selective Service within six months, which I did.

What was your first job in Michigan?

I started working right away as a mechanic in a Volkswagen (VW) repair shop.

Meet Franz Brueger
Thank you! I didn't remember to have read that in the story, you linked to. :)

25 state police detectives working jogger's murder
MSP has enlisted the help of FBI profilers. They say whoever pulled the trigger will likely have a change in behavior that is noticeable.

MSP=Michigan State Police

From your link: "MSP has enlisted the help of FBI profilers."
So they're assisting, which matches up with this:

If a crime is committed that is a violation of local, state, and federal laws, does the FBI “take over” the investigation?

No. State and local law enforcement agencies are not subordinate to the FBI, and the FBI does not supervise or take over their investigations. Instead, the investigative resources of the FBI and state and local agencies are often pooled in a common effort to investigate and solve the cases. In fact, many task forces composed of FBI agents and state and local officers have been formed to locate fugitives and to address serious threats like terrorism and street violence.

Is the FBI a type of national police force?

No. The FBI is a national security organization that works closely with many partners around the country and across the globe to address the most serious security threats facing the nation. We are one of many federal agencies with law enforcement responsibilities.

Is it worth revisiting a revenge motive as briefly discussed on pages one and two of this thread?

Otherwise, I am hoping for an anniversary update from LE.

So it seems the FBI involvement has been from as far back as 2016, and not just a recent involvement.

A few snips in italics from the article at 25 state police detectives working jogger's murder

--- (08/16/16) - A $5,000 reward is now being offered for help solving the murder of Alexandra Brueger.
The Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) is the organization behind the new reward.

Is this reward still current?

--- Evidence is leading them to believe 31-year-old Alexandra Brueger knew her killer. Other elements in the case point to a random act.
"We are pretty confident she knew the killer, but we are not ruling out that it could be random," Shaw said
.
They say whoever pulled the trigger will likely have a change in behavior that is noticeable. It's possible the suspect has heightened anxiety or has become obsessed with Brueger's murder.

My interpretation: they apparently have EVIDENCE pointing to someone she knew, but are not ruling out other possibilities.

--- MSP has enlisted the help of FBI profilers.

We were given a profile list, which I don't have handy at the moment, but was basically the same as a quote here. Lookijg for some with a noticeable change in behavior, possibly appears anxious, and obsessed with the murder.

Thanks, BayouBelle. That's even a little longer than I recalled.

Unless someone is close to a suspect, I don't know how much it helps us here. We can;'t determine if anyone has switched cars since we don't know what parents/boyfriend, or anyone else might have been driving; nor do we really know what they were like before this happened. Maybe LE thinks people who really Ally and her friends/relatives will have something helpful? I wonder if co-workers have weighed in anywhere. I am surprised we haven't heard from them. I suppose it may partly be due to the fact they knew Ally and probably also know the former boyfriend and do not want to upset him ...?

And how does wes “know” Franz has said that since they seem to have minimal contact?

Just to clear this up.
Franz said this about Ally to a reporter, Vera Hogan, in response to the question, “can you think of any reason anyone might have to want to kill your daughter.”
According to Vera this exchange was technically “off the record.”
And after Franz said Ally was mouthy, Nikki apparently got upset with him in front of Vera for suggesting that Ally being mouthy would be a good reason for someone to kill their daughter.
