I am sorry for being so nitpicky, but in the interest of accuracy, I double-checked, and according to the screenshot Wes posted, he was the one who had ten days off:
“Ally: lol what does your work week look like

Wes: Sun and mon, then I’m off for 10 days
W: So I can pick up incentive

A: Holy Moly lol I work monday day and Friday day”

Snipped for focus and bbm.

No problem, pick away. I don't want to put out inaccurate info.

Now I'm left wondering when Ally was planning the trip to Florida. I guess all we know is it was to be sometime in August.

I keep thinking about the white sedan seen in the area around the time of the crime that may, or may not, be involved.

I started looking at statistics to see what percentage of cars in Michigan are white. I couldn't find that, but I learned that the favorite vehicle is a *red* Ford Escape at 17%. Who knew?

Apparently, overall in the U.S., the white Camry is extremely popular. Not sure if that translates to Michigan as well due to winter weather conditions. While white sedans are very common in general, they are often city owned vehicles used for field work as well. Some have logos, some are just part of the city owned "fleet". White sedans are more often driven by "supervisors", whereas other city/govt. workers will drive vans or trucks. Not saying this particular vehicle was being driven by a city/govt worker, but just pointing that out.

What other type of organizations might have a fleet of white sedans for work? Lots I would think. What about a hospital like Novi where Ally worked?
Rent-a-car companies.
Not sure about a hospital, but I know some labs use white cars.

Now *that* is very interesting Blue. Very.....

ETA that I thought of rent-a-cars as well, but surely LE has covered that angle off - one would think early on?

They might be able to find if a specific suspect rented a car, but I don't think they could check with all the agencies to see who rented a car and might have driven out there. Like if the murderer used a car that had been rented in Detroit. Plus it could have been rented two days before and returned two days later. I kind of doubt it was a rental though.

Perigo says LE questioned him, and showed him pictures, about “a pair of sandals surveillance images show”.

Thoughts:
LE was looking for ONE SANDAL, and not “a pair of sandals”.
LE was looking for the one sandal that was a match to a sandal left at the scene of the crime.

Maybe the encounter with Ally started as road rage. Perp yells out the vehicle window and tells Ally to move off of the road while running. Ally responds by being snippy. Angry perp gets out of the vehicle, confronting Ally with more verbal arguing. Ally responds verbally. Road Rage perp grabs one of his sandals from his feet and throws it at Ally. Ally runs away. Perp grabs loaded shotgun from his vehicle. Perp shoots Ally in the back.

April 2018 Road Rage Murder – started with a spit; responded with a sandal (flip-flop), some onions, and threat to shoot; stabbed with knife:
Suspect in spit-sparked road-rage murder held without bond

Published: April 7, 2018
Gilbert Serna, 56, a passenger in a green Dodge Ram, spit out the window. It may have landed on Smith’s black BMW, which also was at the stop light, police said.
Smith argued with Serna. He got out of his BMW, hit him with a flip-flop, tossed a cup of onions at him and threatened to shoot him, police said.
Then Smith pulled a small knife from his BMW and, while gripping the passenger door frame, plunged the knife into Serna’s chest, police said.
Smith went back to the BMW and drove away, police said.

Suspect in murder of Holly jogger says he is innocent
POSTED: NOV 03 2016
Perigo was told investigators were looking for any evidence that may link him to the murder, including a pair of sandals surveillance images show the suspect they believe was wearing at the time.
While he was taken to jail, Perigo says police interrogated his family, friends and boss, impounded his white car, tore up his home and garage and destroyed his boat..
[…]
"He kept asking me questions and showing me pictures," he said. "I said that's not me, I don't wear sandals.

We don't know, if the shooter was skilled. Maybe, he was very well. And maybe, he was calculating as well. What IF the perp shot her in the small of the back, because that would A . perhaps leave behind not dead, but paralyzed forever (with an intact nice looking face as she always had)?

Agree. *If* there is a white sedan involved (and we don't know that), I tend to think it's a company vehicle of some sort.

That is a very interesting thought, and would be very calculating indeed. However, given the number of shots fired, I tend to think fatality was the intent.

Wes posted on June 15th:

“We had originally planned on her coming over after work Saturday morning and us spending the rest of that weekend together because we were both off work for the following 3 days.
But then my schedule got changed and I ended up having to be back at work that Saturday night but she was still off.

So rather than her coming over Saturday morning and then just sitting at my apartment alone Saturday night while I worked, we shifted our plans to have her come over on either Sunday or Monday evening instead.
We made this change Friday night while we were both at work so it was last minute.”

Makes no sense, IMO.

They were both going to have 3 days off. Then he had to work Sat night so she went home with the intention of coming back Sunday/Monday when they would not be back at work till Tues night.

LE will have already checked these work schedules of course as well as everything the suspect has said. We are just double checking what they have previously checked and found no discrepancies presumably.

I am sure that they have. LE checking things did not stop him from lying about being involved in the investigation and his FBI request for a meeting though.

But that doesn't match up with the information we have, including his own text messages: he said he was working Sunday and Monday; she said she was working Monday. So the days of the week are not what he said and that's not three days off in a row.

No we don't know exactly what LE found, but we can see where his story falls apart. It's possible they found the same thing - he lied about their schedules and whether or not she planned on visiting him that weekend.

Did he still go into work that Saturday night after finding out about Ally?

We know he's a suspect because he lied. We don't know what he lied about, but LE sure does. Now why would someone lie to police during a murder investigation? One reason might be because they are guilty. Another might be because they want to feel important and be the center of attention at any cost. In some cases, people have lied in order to get someone else in trouble as an act of revenge. Maybe there are other reasons, but I can't think of any.

I thought he said he did and that's when he found out she was murdered, although I believe there were two different stories (they questioned him and took his stuff but didn't tell him why vs. they told him why) both involved him being at work.

Someone might lie if they are innocent because they don't want anyone to know where they were or who they were with. It would involve having no alibi or getting someone else to cover, but it's another possibility.
