MI - Bianca Jones, 2, Detroit, 2 Dec 2011 - #4 - *D. Lane guilty*

Thank goodness!

JMHO but he's going to have a hard time in prison. He beat a baby to death which not only makes him a monster but a straight up punk.

He surrounded himself with women he could manipulate, thinking himself a playah. IMHO.

The other inmates are going to eat him alive. JMHO.

Oh Well~

Just my opinion.. but I am betting dollars to donuts.. that some big ole boy is gonna be making a point to do some wettin on some panties and shoving them down a certain pretty boy's throat.

Karma is funny like that..

12 more days until sentencing. IIRC, sentencing is scheduled for Nov 16.

^ Following the trial, the Judge announced that sentencing would be on Monday, November 19. DL's attorney, Terry Johnson, quickly reported that he planned to away on that date - probably hoping for a delay ;) The Judge was having none of that and asked the clerk to clear her calendar for Friday, November 16 so that D'Andre could be sentenced promptly :highfive:

I kinda think that urine-soaked panties won't be the only Karma that D'Andre experiences behind bars :blushing:

Today's the day D'Andre learns his fate. Court should be starting any minute.

Thank you for the presser link above BDE, I missed it earlier.

Today's the day, and the sentencing is scheduled for 9:30AM. I haven't found a livestream link yet but have the TV on in case one of the local stations is live at the courthouse (and allowed in). I'll let you know as soon as I've heard something.

Nothing yet. I have the kitchen radio on, too.

:waitasec: Nothing on the noon news, and I can't find any reports on local media about the sentencing. Maybe it's been delayed for some reason. I'll stay on it.

I hope they throw the book at him. He should never be out walking in the light of day again. And I hope that Bianca's mommy has finally allowed the truth to sink in. She has a long road ahead. :rose:

When we didn't hear anything this morning, I wondered if they were even going to report on the sentencing. Especially considering the spotty coverage of the trial.

Thank you for staying on it, BDE.

Banika was quoted somewhere in MSM recently that LE and the prosecution made a mistake. Sadly, I don't think she will ever let this sink in at least where D'Andre is responsible. I'm afraid if Bianca is found, she'll believe the car jackers did it. :sigh:

Maybe we'll have to wait and find DL listed in the MI DOC links to see his sentence. I think that info would become available after he is transported to the penitentiary he'll be serving his time.

I perused several local media websites this morning and found nothing about DL's sentencing. Most local news yesterday focused on the continuing Kwame Kilpatrick trial, the passing of Sonny Eliot, a beloved local weather reporter, and the glitzy Hob Nobble Gobble fundraiser for the parade company.

I've already done an inmate search and haven't found anything about D'Andre. It might take up to 72 hours for his booking information to appear, so I guess we'll have to be patient and keep trying.

I also spent (too much!) time on the Wayne County Court website yesterday trying to find docket information to confirm that DL was, indeed, going to be sentenced. The site is difficult to navigate, and my search was futile.

Seems that D'Andre's sentencing was postponed because he is still in the Wayne County lockup:

I just checked the Michigan DOC site and nothing listed yet for D'Andre.

IIRC, they don't automatically send inmates from county to the state DOC. At least here in Chicagoland, so I assume it's similiar in Detroit. Sometimes they wait until they can bus several inmates at a time rather than transporting inmates individually. That may explain the delay on seeing DL listed as an inmate in a state penitentiary, as opposed to a delay in sentencing.

Let's keep checking the Mich. DOC inmate search site...

^ That seems reasonable, Cubby. I just hope that DL's attorney didn't finagle a postponement in sentencing when the Judge made it very clear that she wanted to sentence D'Andre promptly. Even if there's an appeal, the perp would be housed in a state prison and not in the county jail. With all the coddling and cooing that went on after the verdict was read, I wouldn't be surprised if TJ wants his client in protective custody so the bad boys can't harm him. :moo:

I will soon be off to the market for all of the fresh components of my Thanksgiving dinner. I took care of non-perishables last week so that today's trip is fairly quick. If you're traveling over the holiday weekend, I wish you a safe journey. Thoughts and prayers for Bianca's family, and my best wishes to everyone who has followed this case for a blessed and happy Thanksgiving.
