BBM When men start giving birth they can say they have PPD.

That is what I said....men don't have this excuse. Which seems to be the catch all excuse for all abusive women. There are some women who don't suffer from PPD. Plenty, in fact.

WHEN men start taking responsibility for the children they create, women won't be faced with issues like this. IMHO

Most women don't need a MAN in their life...or their childs life....to protect their baby from abuse! This woman chose the "issue" she was facing. Shacked up with an ex felon who she witnessed abuse her child. Maybe....just a suggestion.....she should have taken responsibility for her child.

until the excuse making stops for these women, noting is going to change. Just more little bodies piling up....

exactly.

Where is Carnel's father? He is in prison.

I reiterate; men have to start being responsible for the children they create. It is not about if the men are needed, it is about their duty to be a father, that doesn't mean just depositing sperm. IMHO

The bodies will keep piling up so long as men continue killing children.

How about we place the blame where it is known, so far, to belong here: on the man who most likely killed Carnel. Not on the mom who was a child herself when she had Carnel. not on the mom, who was the one in the relationship working to support herself and her son. Not on the mom who was raising Carnel while his father was off in prison.

All I'm saying is that THIS mom made it possible for this monster to have access to her son. I realize that some people will never hold a woman responsible for what her lover does to her child/children. I don't understand it, but have been around here long enough to know that is true in every case like this. Agree to disagree and move on to the next case. There always is one. Hopefully, the killer of Carnel will get the death penalty....

Ditto for women with appropriate gender corrections. Even if the fathers are no good the mothers still have a responsibility to protect and care for their offspring. A lot of the time they already knew that the father was no good before they chose to reproduce with him.

IMO women and men should both be responsible for the children they create. However, since the woman is the only (at this time lol) that is able to give birth IMO they should be held more responsible for what happens to their children. (not pc correct but I don't care)

Now on with nailing this nasty 🤬🤬🤬 to the wall for what he has done to that poor little boy.

Jaimee's brother is saying that Bennett shaved Carnel's head a week before he died. Also saying that his Mom had been taking care of Carnel. He had only been in JC & AB's care for three weeks. To be clear, I don't know if that means Grandma was babysitting him or if Carnel had been living with her.

In one of his comments made on a news story. Jaimee's brother said he using a friends facebook page, as he does not have one. He posts as GL, but his name is TC.

If he is reading here I want to offer my sincere condolences to him and his family. TC is heartbroken over the loss of his nephew and has been posting about him from day one.

Are you saying ab's mom was watching Carnel? If you are I find that kinda strange because she doesn't live in Mt. P

Entering the lodge, a skeletal structure made from maple wood, Jackson said the structure must always be entered from the east, which is a symbol of the beginning of everything.
Once inside, the path that must be taken runs clockwise, passing south, which represents youth, east, which represents spring and rebirth, and north, which represents the elders, Jackson said.

Mom handed Carnel over to this killer on a sliver platter, imo.

Mom had plenty of close family who were ready and willing to help with Carnel. She was not trapped into this situation with this felon.

You cannot only blame 'men' for this crime. Because a woman, his mother, agreed with the corporal punishment. She knew about it and accepted it as 'training' to become a man. She took part in it because she told NG that WE were training Carnel.

Women are not weak, clueless victims. They do have spines and brains. If the baby's father is in prison, they are fully capable of raising a child. Especially when they receive hefty casino benefits and have lots of family nearby.

Should this woman be hung from the closest tree? Do you think that she isn't grieving? IF someone doesn't know/understand the ramifications of DV then the results will never be understood.

as for the BBM...some things are just predictable, aren't they. ;)

Maybe mother's that are witnessing the the abuse of their children can start holding candles in their communities before their child dies - as a signal that all is not right in the household, and they can't dial 911.

Beside the fact that this crime falls under the Major Crimes Act, Jaimee's cousin is the Police Chief on the rez. That is a conflict of interest.

While Tribal public relations was the point of information about the search for Carnel since he was reported missing, Tribal authorities said Thursday afternoon that the case and information regarding it were being handled by the FBI.

Reading through the posts, I see lots of finger-pointing, a natural reaction to the murder of a 4-year-old child because we are all rightfuilly outraged. BUT it's a societal problem. While it's true that many men do not take responsibility for the children they create, mothers truly have a duty to protect their children also. Jaimee was a fool to allow a jobless, former felon into her home and especially to ignore the abuse, to go along with it just to "keep" a man. I'm so weary of seeing young women give up so much to keep a man who is hardly WORTH keeping! All issues need to be addressed, including tougher penalties for the murder/abuse of a child, in my not-so-humble opinion.

I also love Woodland's earlier post (2-3 up) where it's suggested that women can hold candles to indicate things are not so okay in their homes, but they fear calling 911. That way, the community can act and take responsibility for the children because it's true that it "takes a whole village to raise a child." RIP to Carnel, a child who never had the chance to grow beyond childhood.

I don't say she should be hung from a tree, but maybe she should be held accountable for standing by, and doing nothing, when she saw her son being physically abused.

You keep talking about DV here, as if she was being abused by him as well. I don't think she was being abused by him. I think he put her on a pedestal, which is how he convinced her to stand by him.

And I don't understand your statement about somethings being predictable?

I was saying that she had a lot of close family in town and she received hefty casino bonuses. So she was much better off than many young single mothers are, imo.
