:furious:

A link is provided below for a video interview of court assigned defense attorney Anthony Chambers, who is representing Anthony Bennett.

Attorney Chambers says he has met with his client, and it is going to be a matter of the indictments and what charges are made.

He indicated that he is beginning the process of defending his client ... and he is prepared "to put up a robust defense."

A 'robust defense' for AB? Does it sound like they may start pointing fingers at each other now?

From the sound of comments I have been reading, this is going to be the time Jaimee may need to go into hiding! It's going to be interesting to see how AB is charged.

I know this was probably posted already but did Jaimee take Carnel back with help from an agency or by asking her mom for Carnel back? TIA

As far as I know - we do not have factual info regarding the custody transfer. I do not know, but suspect, that it might have been an "unofficial" arrangement
that was not being overseen by any agency.

If it is the case then JC could have simply become irritated with mom and walked in and taken the child with her without so much as a by your leave.

TOTAL SPECULATION ON MY PART.

So Jaimee starts working and acquires her son (who she apparently did not raise) both at the same time? Strange. JMO Sorry, having major problems with this.

If you follow comments sections under articles and some of the social sites regarding the case you will find of lots of allegations about JC and the situation. It is said (UNCONFIRMED THROUGH MSM) by someone alleged to be JC's brother that JC removed Carnel simply to spite her mother because they were not getting along.

Obviously I have no idea if true or not but it does supply a possible explanation as to why the sudden change in living arrangement.

Matou - what are you thinking? PM me if you need to, not looking to flame just want to know what is on your mind. My thought was maybe having a job was a (formal or informal) requirement for her getting her son back. If she didn't need the money someone may have wanted her to prove she could be responsible (i.e. maintain a job).

Also, it was stated that she might have wanted him in her care when the children's casino bonuses came out. Apparently it was a couple thousand dollars, and it would only be given to her if she had him in her care.

yeah, I had read that on one of the FB sites. So the motive for sudden change in living situation could have been spite or monetary gain or both. If AB was domineering with JC, Carnel could have been fetched from Grandma's care at his prompting or encouragement for financial gain and if JC and grandma were having trouble getting along, the spite thing could just be a cherry on top sort of thing for JC.

THE ABOVE IS FULL OF IFS and COULDS. SPECULATION ONLY and that is as far as I am willing to go out on the speculative limb without more concrete facts to add to the mix.

We have no info in this case, so nearly everything has been speculation and opinion thus far. Do we need to tip-toe in stating our opinions and thoughts in this thread?

Not aimed at you TL, just jumping off your post

No worries I gotcha. I don't think anyone is required to tiptoe as long as they stay within TOS. I am speaking merely for myself in that I am hesitant to speculate too much further as to what JC's involvement is in events that happened either by act or ommission til I have more credible facts in general. I am never comfortable with cases such as this where the vast majority of "news" is coming from FB pages and the like. Particularly when there is an obvious rift between family members or a community.

Mostly I guess I feel badly for the community as a whole and Carnel's loved ones in particular.

This is just for my own comfort level and certainly does not suggest in any way how others should post or speculate ;)

Sorry but I can't find out info about where Carnel was living with his Grandma before Jaimee took custody of him. Was it on the same rez or elsewhere? TIA

It's heated in here because we're all passionate. Passionate about the injustice done to Carnel.

We're all here for the right reasons, and all have our own opinions about everything leading up to his death.

I'm thankful we are all different, life would be pretty boring otherwise. We learn from one another when we hear differing points of view. I've had many of those "things that make you go hmmm" moments when reading the posts.

Imagine the alternative posts:

"yeah, what he said,
yeah, what she said - I totally agree,
yeah, they got it just right"

UGH-frightening

I like our varied points of view. We're a good mix, and we're all frustrated at what seems to be taking an eternity to punish Carnel's killer. It's summertime; we're hot, kids are underfoot, grass needs to be mowed - it's easy to get into heated discussions. I won't read and participate in posts where there's only one point of view.

I just know, if anything ever happened to me - I'd want all of you on MY CASE. :thumb:
