I haven't bowled for many years, but the venue isn't nearly as far from me as the other events that have been in the Monroe area. I will make a note of the fundraiser on my calendar so I don't forget the date/time. Thoughts and prayers for Chelsea's family :please:

Town unites to find 'one of our own'

Francis X. Donnelly, The Detroit News 12:26 a.m. EST January 16, 2015

Maybee — Chelsea Bruck is everywhere in southeast Michigan.

Her visage calls from T-shirts, buttons, store counters, yard signs, car windows. Purple ribbons wave from trees, light poles and mailboxes.

The only thing missing is Bruck herself. The 22-year-old vanished three months ago in the wide open spaces of rural Monroe County.

"People don't just disappear," said her mother, Leannda. "This is not supposed to happen in small-town USA."

Bruck was last seen leaving a raucous Halloween party whose attendees were too drunk or high to help police in their investigation.
With law enforcement stymied and the weeks crawling by with no sign of Bruck, residents have rallied around her family...

Baloney! Or not willing to talk.....yet.

Please be careful. I would be more afraid of stopping on the side of the freeway then what you might find in that bin. It is a good idea to call or check it out. It could be something...

Someone who attended the Halloween gig knows the POI. Reward is now $30,000 - nice chunk of change for someone. Time to talk.

Doesn't it beg the question...could this be targeting Kassandra or the Wedding? A fluke coincidence perhaps but 2 key wedding party members?!

I hope Kassandra and/or the wedding aren't potential targets, but I hope there is security at any of the venues involved (church, hall, etc.). Family and guests should be alert to uninvited guests, lurkers, anyone behaving oddly, etc. :moo:

Amen to that.

On a related but different angle on this, I was just visiting the Niswender thread and a strong thought came to mind. Is there even the most remote chance that this could be revenge, a payback associated to other members of these families? I just kept thinking about their church going, and the Exodus biblical quote having to do with the children being punished for the sins of the parents. Is there a possibility that someone is punishing the parents by hurting the children for some perceived grievance? I know this is a bit of a stretch, and certainly don't say this to cause additional anguish to anyone. Were the Niswender and Bruck dads connected in any business venture, or had some mutual acquaintance that was angry for some reason?

Again, a stretch, but worth thinking about maybe.

I just watched all the videos related to Chelsea's disappearance. The news conference with her family speaking was the most powerful. Her dad absolutely broke my heart, and her mother's strength and faith absolutely inspired me. Her older sister, even when corrected, kept referring to Chelsea in the past tense....repeatedly. Subconsciously at least, she seems convinced Chelsea is gone it seems.

I was thinking about this case in terms of Hannah Graham and Morgan Harrington... Morgan's case didn't get a break until sadly Hannah was taken..

I have a couple more thoughts, and an idea I want to share after watching the video of Chelsea's family talking to the press. Not sure when that was dated, but I referenced this video upthread, a couple posts up.

I would like to emphasize and call out how incredibly impressed I was with the sincerity, commitment, and effort being displayed by the local LE. The Monroe County Sherriff's department expressed that one of their members had worked 30 hours straight, and they were working 16 hour shifts to find Chelsea. I truly teared up listening to the Sherriff and seeing this small town team of heroes looking exhausted, but determined. God Bless them, and let us only have praise and support for them.

Thinking of how understaffed they are for such an incident, and with scant resources, I started thinking about the recent murder and recovery of Erin Corwin. (She has a thread on WS). Finding Erin was a one in a million chance, at best. But I knew she *would* be found in one of those remote mines in the desert, because she had the MARINES and all their technology looking for her. They used special cameras, heat seeking devices, etc.

Now since Chelsea is not a military dependent I know she can't have the Marines involved in this search. HOWEVER, perhaps our good team from the Monroe Sherriff's office might consult with the appropriate Military Intelligence Officers that did the impossible in finding Erin and get some additional tips?

Strongly encourage they make that call.....

My prayers continue as inspired by Mrs. Bruck's strength. God Bless.

Chelsea's brother is in the NAVY. Do they have resources for similar searches?

Oh yes indeed, they do. That said, they could only use those resources for a military related mission I would think. However, I do think that our good LE folks might want to leverage the local Military Intelligence for some consultation. I would recommend they try this as it relates to the Corwin case. That recovery was no less than a miracle, and an incredible display of military excellence in action.

I was thinking about the idea of LE having a suspect in the case, and I don't think they do. The reason I say this is because I just don't see them acting on a credible lead on a suspect while Chelsea is still missing. I think that if she had been found and LE was still gathering evidence for trial I could be a little more optimistic about LE having a suspect in their sights.

They could be waiting for the lab to give them enough ammo to insure a conviction. Or, they could be observing a POI, or simply still be tring to find her. I am sure there is at least one solid POI with all the cameras and eyewitnesses. It is so incredibly cowardly for those with knowledge to stay silent. Bad karma, to say the least.

Good to be positive. Wish LE would hold a presser and at least say something. Wondering if in any case LE came right out an mentioned something like: "we are stymied, and lacking new info cannot go forward. Perhaps that would help bring in more tips as it make them (LE) seem more human and fallible... it might also embolden the perp causing him to boast to someone, but might also get him thinking about doing it again (and that would not be good)... so answering my own thought about this..

IMO The abductor is known to LE for something else not connected to the abduction. I hope they will be able to connect the information they have and find him as we know if not found he is very likely to repeat his crime.

Statistically, do we know what "indicator" crimes he may have committed per your hypothesis? Interesting....

BBM... what info would lead them to include Ohio and Indiana in their search and not expand beyond that?
