Ah, yes, the jug. Looked like an empty cider jug filled with food-colored water. Probably heavy, so I doubt Chelsea lugged the jug around with her all evening. Wonder where it was found?

 • #862
If I recall correctly, it was left behind at the party, early into the event.

I remember them saying they found the big jug.
RSBM

Yes, I'll look for the post, but IIRC, Kilen, a verified insider on this thread, confirmed this information about the jug.

A link for a Google Map with some embedded photos as taken and described by monster12, last week of the area searched beginning on Easter

The photos from the locations marked with little circles

Click on the circles to see the photos

or

The diamonds to see shots from Bing

The colored lines help give a sense of the photos' angles

Prepared with the help of WS mappers

This is fantastic! Talk about great teamwork! Everyone should note they can enlarge or decrease the size of the map with the - or + controls.
But you prolly already knew that. : )

In describing the search area he photographed, Monster12 mentioned how unkempt the area looked, all garbage strewn and overgrown. I'd have thought that it would have considerable appeal for high school students looking for a grown-up free zone. The back of the Woodhaven High School is only about a thousand feet from the search area.

In much earlier imagery, the Microsoft Bing Maps 'Bird's Eye' view shows a much cleaner, better tended, less sinister looking environment. Bldg.#2 in the linked map appears, in the more recent Google imagery to be a burned out shell. It the Bing images, it is whole and looks in good shape.

Have you been formally welcomed yet? If not..........:thewave::welcome:
Notice my bold....my first thought was this was the back field of a high school. If it hadn't been within walking distance I think we would have seen a lot of jalopies parked about

I know this may seem a bit out there and please do not take this as any slight to Chelsea AT ALL- however looking at the photos from the party, I got the impression that she seemed a bit "out of it" to some degree. Is it possible that at the party she took (or unknowingly was slipped) drugs which may have made her an easier target for whomever came across her and took her that fateful night?

I have to reiterate this is not to bash Chelsea at all but I'm just considering all options. JMO and all that

That is my theory - I was rufied once at a concert and it took a short while to take effect...you become disoriented, then feel really drunk, then can basically be lead or carried anywhere. If HB, LKZ and maybe others "helped"her into a car, she would be incapacitated for several hours :/ I want to believe this did not happen, but if these kids have anything to do with it and were out to find a victim, it stands to reason they would want to make it as easy as possible.

[modsnip] It is the first scenario that has made sense, however it makes me shudder to imagine what they did. I apologize I don't have more to add at this stage. Everyone is doing an amazing job. I pray Chelsea is found soon!!!

If I recall correctly, it was left behind at the party, early into the event.

My question about the jug was intended to be more specific: Where, exactly, was the jug found? Was it near the stage area/mosh pit? Near vendors where Chelsea was seen with the young man with whom she allegedly left the party? Was the jug found along the way to the parking lot or near where cars were parked? I'm sure LE knows where the jug was found, but I don't recall that detail being reported.

What does the person that provided the sketch say of Chelsea's demeanor? They spoke to them as they were leaving.

Ah, to relive a high school afternoon sneaking off into the woods with friends!

That was a welcome with considerable production values, as the Hollywood types would say! Thank you indeed, and for your earlier help testing links.
I have advised the girls about the body just in case but it's the other side of the state so it seems somewhat unlikely.

About the jug- Apparently the jug just kind of got of passed around from friend to friend over the course of the night, someone set it down by the fire and someone else picked it up and took it home with them. I believe when they recognized what they had once news of Chelsea's disappearance spread they called the police to let them know they had the jug and they surrendered it to the police.

I know that Chelsea borrowed a phone quite late into the party, I believe she borrowed it from the girl she spoke to at the bonfire and attempted to contact her friends to get a ride but nobody picked up their phones it would have been quite late at that point.
Posting for later reference from here (Robert Allen, Detroit Free Press, 10/30/14)

"About an hour after he spoke with the Free Press by phone Wednesday, Monroe County Sheriff's deputies and Michigan State Police officers arrived at the house and began searching it along with nearby structures and vehicles."

Thank you, Roses, for the info. I have not been following as closely as many of you and I will try to check here each day. I do believe LE stated they were pretty certain that the items found were from Chelsea. Thought the single leaf wasn't connected from the TV report I indicated, which someone else here stated was Fox 2.

It has been 38 years and the head of my union(Jimmy Hoffa) has not been found. I am waiting like all of you to confirm the clothing found is that of Chelsea.
