Dee Warner's family petitions court to declare her dead
The missing Lenawee woman's grown children say there is enough circumstantial evidence she died around the time of her disappearance in 2021.

At every turn in Tipton, you’ll spot signs demanding Justice for Dee. The biggest sign is billboard-sized, on the side of a building. It’s on the farm owned by Dee’s brother Gregg Hardy.
“The emotional rollercoaster for something like this is beyond being able to describe. The family fluctuates from being optimistic to being extremely pessimistic to being angry because it’s not being accomplished,” said Hardy. “And by the way, that feeling resonates throughout the community. I don’t know how many people have come to me and say, ‘OK, why isn’t there unrest here?’”

I watched the program. A lot of money. A lot of questions.
I don’t think Dee ran away. Why would she leave a thriving business and family plus a young daughter.

That Sunday, Dee’s daughter Rikkell Bock stopped by her mother’s house with her husband and daughter around 9:00 a.m., but Dee was nowhere to be found. They reported her missing later that day. Dee's brother, Gregg, told Dateline that Dee’s husband, Dale, told the family that he had left the house at 6:30 a.m. and Dee was lying on the couch snoring. Sheriff Troy Bevier told Dateline in January of 2022 that the Lenawee County Sheriff's Office was investigating Dee's disappearance. He detailed the searches for Dee -- including helicopter, foot patrol, canine, drone, and ground-penetrating radar searches. They also checked her financial and medical records and her social media. Through all of these searches, the only thing located was Dee’s keys. Over the summer, the Lenawee County Sheriff's Office requested that the Michigan State Police take the lead on Dee's case. No suspects have been named in Dee's disappearance. In August 2022, Dateline featured Dee's case in season one of the new podcast series “Dateline: Missing in America.” In September 2022, Dee's children petitioned to have their mother declared dead. Dee is 5’4” and weighs 135-140 lbs. She has brown hair which, at the time of her disappearance, had blonde highlights. Dale Warner, the husband of missing Tecumseh, Michigan woman, Dee Ann Warner, was in court today to face criminal contempt of court charges. Dee’s four adult children were in attendance, as well as, her brother, sister-in-law, nephew, and several close friends. There was no one supporting Mr. Warner, except for his attorney, Larry Leib.
Mr. Warner faced multiple charges of criminal contempt of court for, among other instances of flagrantly disobeying a judge’s orders, diverting millions of dollars of assets from Dee’s estate and concealing his actions from the Successor Conservator, Charles D. Bullock. Mr. Bullock is responsible for protecting the assets of Dee Ann Warner’s estate.
The attorneys from both sides spent several hours in chambers negotiating before appearing before Hon. Katherine A. Sala in Lenawee County Probate Court. The attorneys on Dee Ann Warner’s side have been waiting for Mr. Warner to comply with orders to turn over financial records. Mr. John W. Polderman, attorney for the Successor Conservator, told the judge, “Some progress has been made, but more documents need to be produced.”
The judge agreed with all the attorneys to adjourn the hearing until April 12,

Dee Warner case going to trial on March 16
Warner's family has hired Detroit-based attorney Todd Flood in the hopes of having the missing Lenawee County woman declared legally dead, a family friend said.
The case of Dee Warner, who has been missing from Lenawee County since April 2021, is going to trial in the county probate court on March 16 at 8:30 a.m.
Warner's family hopes to have her declared legally dead and has hired attorney Todd Flood, the managing partner of Detroit-based law firm Flood Law, PLLC.
A pretrial hearing is scheduled for March 9 at 10:10 a.m.

Dee has been missing from her Munger Road home since late April of 2021. Lenawee County Probate Court Judge Catherine Sala recently set May 12th as the pretrial date…and June 20th and 21st as the trial dates.

"On the one hand it feels like a very short time," said Dee's older brother, Gregg Hardy. "On the other hand, it feels like 100 years."
Dee Ann Warner was 52 when she was last seen on April 24, 2021 when she dropped off her young daughter with a friend before going to meet her husband, according to an affidavit from the friend, who also said that Warner had told her she planned to divorce her husband.
