I hope he's not eligible for parole until a year beyond his natural life expectancy.

Pretty expected outcome. Even before her body was located, he seemed like the likely suspect. I think the biggest shock in this case was that her body was hidden in plain sight for so long.

I am kinda surprised they didn't find that this was premeditated. He seemed fairly methodical, cold, and calculating leading up to the murder and had a plan for storing her body. This wasn't a "whoops, lost control" situation" IMO.

Watching local coverage and they mentioned in Michigan, all parties could have agreed to go forward with an 11 paneled jury, so I suppose that answers why they cut loose the alternates.

Dee Warner murder case: Jury finds husband Dale Warner guilty

A jury found Dale Warner guilty of murdering his wife, Dee Warner, after she vanished in 2021 and her remains were found in a fertilizer tank on their property years later.

“It’s been a long time getting here,” Dee’s brother, Gregg Hardy, said outside after court on Tuesday afternoon. “So it’s very difficult for it to sink, but I’m exuberant for my sister.”

Hardy said he’s disappointed Dale wasn’t found guilty of first-degree murder.

“He is an atrocious piece of human trash, in my opinion. A debris. However you like to say it,” Hardy said when asked about Dale. “No one should ever consider doing that to a human being, let alone the mother of your child or your wife.”

Adrian ― Dale Warner, a prominent Tecumseh farmer whose marriage dissolved into squabbling over money and unfaithfulness, was convicted Friday of killing his wife and hiding her body in a sealed fertilizer tank.

The burly Warner, wearing a coat and tie, buckled slightly and looked down as the verdict was read by a court clerk in Lenawee County Circuit Court. Defense attorney Mary Chartier patted his arm as he became teary-eyed.

In the gallery, relatives of his wife, Dee Warner, quietly cried and hugged each other.

The jury of seven men and five women deliberated nine hours over two days before finding Warner guilty of second-degree murder and tampering with evidence...

If the jury believed DaleW strangled DeeW to death, that is premeditation.

It takes time. Time enough to reconsider, stop, supply aid.

He didn't reconsider, stop or supply aid.

He continued to strangle her with malice and ongoing thought with intent to kill.

I think that strangulation should always qualify as premeditated.

"Premeditated" doesn't necessarily mean "preplanned".

But strangulation takes time, it takes prolonged intent.

I agree. It's not a flash of anything, it's very prolonged intent. She's not dead as soon as he lays his hands on her. IMO
