I have to ask, didn't there used to be a thing called maternal instinct? It was supposed to kick in about the time a woman had a child and consist of the basic drive to protect your child from anything that may harm them? Wasn't that how it worked?

Anyway, let me see if I am up to speed on this...please correct me if I have any of the basics wrong.
Nevaeh's father hasn't seen her for at least 3 years...supposedly.
Her mother was in jail for 11 months, during which time her grandmother was her custodian, and I am assuming still is.
Nevaeh and her mother both live with her grandmother, even though mom is 24 and should really be out on her own.
Mother has a friend/boyfriend that is an RSO (I am betting bf, the friend thing is to keep him from breaking parole.)
Mother met this bf at the parole office (that's a good sign.)
Mother's bf has a friend or roomte that is the owner of the green van that supposedly seen in the area around teh time that Nevaeh disappeared.

Do I have the basics so far?

***IMPORTANT QUESTION***

Does anyone happen to know what the OFFICIAL telephone numbers are for the public to call with information regarding Neveah? I've come across a few missing pics of Neveah w/ toll-free numbers posted that I haven't seen before - anyone can set up a toll-free number so I'd like to confirm that they're official numbers - thanks in advance!

The tip line for the Nevaeh Buchanan case is (734) 457-6713

I have not seen any toll free numbers. the official numbers are 734-243-7070 and (this one I am guessing at...I have it at the office) 734-457-6713.

No, no, no...I had nothing to do with that conversation other than cut and paste...lol
Nice to see you out here Whitehawk, it's been a while.
What's your take on Nevaeh's case?
I'm thinking with the search being called off that LE has something.
The letter is also of great interest to me...I'm wondering if maybe she traded Nevaeh to Kennedy or sold her or even concocted a scam of letting him take her so they could say she was kidnapped and collect donations.
I'm interested to hear your thoughts.

I'm just a student on this case right now. I have been checking the news everyday just to see if she has been found. If I want to participate in this one, I need to play catchup! I have been soooo busy with my job I haven't had time to read or post much. I am curious about what everyone else is. All that blood in the motel room belongs to somebody! The story from the children has got to have SOME truth to it. Grandma running off really needs to be looked at. They might find more than money with her. And finally, I think JB is a fruitloop and her boyfriend needs to staked out on an anthill! Now, I'll hush until I can catch up on all of the post.

Well I'm certainly glad to see we share the same curiosities and opinion! Especially the anthill!
Check this out http://www.state.mi.us/mdoc/asp/otis2profile.asp?mdocNumber=627126 notice she is wearing a straight jacket.
Confirmation "she is a fruitloop!"

Thanks momtective. Can you (or anyone else if you know) tell me if 734-243-7070 is a legitimate number to Monroe County Sheriff's Dept as I've seen that one posted repeatedly. Additionally 1-800-681-0687 is listed on various pics/sites.

Link to a picture of Neveah with the toll-free number listed only;

I did find a couple of news/media sites listing this toll-free number:

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children fliers of Nevaeh's do have 1-800-THE-LOST = 1-800-843-5678 on them, as well as the Monroe County Sheriff's office number above.

The blood soaked shirt has really bothered me...
Warning kinda graffic

Last June my son flipped our atv and ended up with 15 staples in his head. The gash was 2inches down and 2inches back. The blood ran down on his shirt. Only half of his shirt was covered in blood. the shorts he pulled off and applied pressure to his head also were not soaked in blood. So that being said just what could've happened to who to cause the short to be soaked in blood? I hope they compare Savannah's dna to the dna on the shirt. Maybe they need to be looking for another victim in monroe...

I think the same thing. If the blood came from Savannah, wouldn't she have an injury to show to LE? Had to be pretty bad one for that much blood. I bet LE has already figured out she is just trying to cover something up for this "man" (if you would consider a SO a man) whom she has had a "crush" on for ever. There has to be more to the story of the blood in the hotel room and on the knife found in his car.

I'm still not convinced that the fact Nevaeh is missing and the blood that was found in the mom's SO BF's hotel room and on a knife in his car are not related. They say the blood does not match Nevaeh's. I still have questions about the probability of this happening at about the same time Nevaeh goes missing. I still can't shake the little boy's statement about her being stabbed by "Daddy George".

Casey has had the Mother of the Year sash and crown for almost a full year now. JB is infringing a bit on her time, but is probably time to pass the baton.

I think the soaked in blood source is from a single reporter and not a police document? If I am recalling that correctly I think it has been overstated by the reporter. The police would mention in their notes that the clothing recovered indicated a substansial amount of blood loss (especially when scaled down to a young child, without a body that could be crucial... had it been soaked and had it been Neveah's).

Hmmm . . .

Ryan Duvall is a friend of the family and he originally organized the first of the volunteer searches, set up a tip line for tips and worked at getting a community based reward fund set up. He is still handling the reward fund.

He quit the volunteer searches after two days because LE was concerned about them wandering into places LE was searching. (I don't think it was organized well in the beginning but he tried)

He is no longer handling tips and asked that all future tips be called into the sheriff's office.

Another well oiled group of individuals led by the Pastor (Paster Dan as he is called, he's a local reverend at the gramma's church, I believe) then took up the volunteer searches and coordinated their volunteer searches with LE. LE was fine with them searching as long as they stayed out of places where LE was searching.

They have grid maps, marking area's searched, they now have searchers sign in and out, send out groups with team leaders etc...they are committed to search everywhere they can and as long as they can to find Nevaeh and bring her home to her family.

Daily searches are planned till Nevaeh is found. They meet at 10AM daily at the Kmart parking lot and send out groups all day, as new searches show up or as groups come back in to get new areas to search. They search into the early evening.
