Another observation...Why would someone throw bags with body parts on the side of the road? Especially if there is a bag they think is connected that had burned papers and clothing in it??

I'm thinking that wasn't very bright and now LE has all sorts of forensic evidence from those bags. Even if they wore gloves. The bags where in the car and could have picked up all sorts of stuff. Just doesn't seem too smart to me.

The only explanation I think makes any sense is this person has a severe mental illness. The crime itself and then the totally lack of regard in the manner of disposal. Not rational. Has to be mental illness.

I can't find any news from today yet; was expecting at least something from the autopsy.

Wonder how much blood was found - whether the body was drained before dismemberment or if the killer washed the remains before they were dumped.

I wondered why they would toss charred paper in there and why it didn't burn enough to leave it where it was. Would somebody burn something then put it in the bag too? Maybe the charred paper was in this man's pocket and he was burned. Then the paper just fell out in the bag??

It could be the papers were underneath the person and didn't burn all the way, but stuck to clothing or something. Or it could be evidence or have evidence on it and the reason it ended up in the bag.

Decoy? Dispose of the body while the real murderer leaves the state/country?

Does anyone know when the picture of this vehicle was taken; before or after point of sale? If before, then this vehicle came in on the far West entrance to the gas station meaning she most likely came in from 94. If this is post Point of Sale, then this vehicle is heading out of the East end entrance, probally heading back East on Fred W. Moore.

Im starting to think this person just jumped on 94 west and went until there was an exit she felt comfortable, she dropped the body there (thinking it was less traffic and isolated). This man could be from anywhere and it does sound like he was burned. The papers most likely were used to ignite the fire and when the body didn't burn well enough, they disposed of it. If I had to guess, I would say that the body was cut up first and then burned.

It is about a four hour drive from St. Clair Shores to Norton Shores...Google Maps tell me 3 Hours and 17 minutes...Sorry, trying to navigate this site. I'm new lol...Someone asked how far it was from where Jessica Heeringa was abducted...

Welcome. :)

Interestingly enough, it is also a little over 4 hours from where Dr. Patrick's car was found in Porter, IN. Much is happening in and around Michigan this winter.

If you use the "quote" button, that will include the text of the post you're replying to. That way even if there are new posts in between the original post and your reply, it will be clear what the context is.

Often a perp doesn't realize how difficult it is to burn a body and turns to other methods of disposal. I would theorize it was the other way around and he was dismembered after the charred results, but most likely in the same location.

I guess with winter dumping tons of snow on us, people are getting bored, really bored. :tantrum:

She had to know exactly what she was tossing. With her demeanor in the station, it would appear she was under no duress. This doesn't indicate a "decoy" to me.

I don't see any reason she would have been under duress. I was thinking accomplice after the fact, helping the murderer get away by disposing of the body for them.

eta: moot point after the arrest

Woman in custody in St. Clair County human body parts investigation

SAINT CLAIR SHORES, Mich. -
A 59-year old St. Clair County woman is in police custody at the St. Clair Shores Police Department, pending arraignment in the investigation of bags of human body parts found on the side of the road.

Two decent looking neighborhoods. The Rosedale neighborhood consists of single family dwellings and the Gary Lane addresses are duplex/triplex and apartment style homes.

The woman in the photos did not look almost 60 years old. Interesting. Still not surprised they have an arrest this fast.
