[QUOTE} He was 32 and that's a bit old to experience his first "episode" with a psychotic type illness. [/QUOTE]
Um, not really. Perhaps nothing had ever been so bad as to trigger it before, like his father's death. Perhaps he'd had minor episodes in the past and his father's death resulted in a major one. Perhaps his mother also had a psychotic break after having to deal with the death of her husband AND a son who was having a psychotic break - they're both very stressful events that would send most people over the edge. As I said before, grief does strange things to the mind. You don't know how you'll cope with it until you've been through it, and even then, when it happens a second or a third time, it might be even worse. Grief can make you feel like you're going insane, it's not uncommon and is considered quite normal.
Authorities have also stated they don't have a motive and don't know how, why, or IF she killed him, just that she dismembered him (as they've found the tool she did it with). What kind of psychopath would dump trashbags out in the open in full view of everyone in broad daylight though? I don't think they would, they wouldn't want to get caught. Psychopaths are a bit more cunning than that. It's pretty clear she wasn't thinking rationally or clearly.
