How Funny The Get It Market in Big Stone Gap is gonna now be on the map! LOL Heck, I'd never heard of Big Stone Gap. Sounds like it could have some historical importance.


ETA: Interesting. It is known as the Town of Big Stone Gap having a population in 2000 of 4,800 residents. They now have a nice website that promotes it as a Town, and have a Festival every year that promotes the arts and music of Appalachia. It is up high in the Cumberland Mtns, and the town of Appalachia is not far up to the NE.

If Jason checked into a hotel 3 hours away, I have a hard time believing that he checked in just before midnight, then drove 3 hours back home, committed the perfect murder, got back in his car, drove 3 hours back to the hotel, made an appearance to perfect his alibi, went to a meeting 2 hours away, then drove 2-3 hours to his parents house, then drove the 5 hours back home. It's wild! Even with amazing stamina, this is really pushing the limits of what is really possible.

a person with plan & adrenalin (sp?) pumping could do just about anything, imo....i still say he checked into a place not far over the VA line, & then drove back that night.....i think when he left the house, he drove straight on to to the area of the business meeting....(course w/all this speculation of him getting a receipt put under the room's door, i guess it's possible he slipped back in to get that receipt...still have a problem w/this part)

Confusing cause the addresses list them as hwy 58 and they're close together but I finally noticed the difference by comparing zip codes and found more.

So - next question LE has noted they have traveled to four states outside of NC. Right now we can pretty much confirm VA, Fl is a definite stop, what are the other two ?

LP made the Duffield choice but as you can see by Close's research there's lots of choices so that's why LE needs to speak with him too. Although they should be able to use his phone info to place him meeting wise and they know which gas station it is. We don't. Still means no hampton hotel close by though right RC?

okaaaaay, this is really going to screw up my original theory, but what IF he stopped in at a Hampton in Greensboro NC, THEN drove back to Raleigh that night???...Greensboro is 80 miles from Raleigh & there's Hampton Hotels there...

As I recall without going back through all the searches the closest Hampton Inns are Kingsport and Abington.

My opinion - he could have stopped by and picked up a bid package - this would place him there and it would allow for a variable time. Also, he would have known about it through ChartOne - the bid package. The article clearly states they are in the bidding process. No big deal to pick up the bid package to start preparation of a presentation and formal bid. JMO

No Close but he could've gotten the gas and all that in the am. A three hour drive from that area to Brevard to put him there at 3 maybe? Has that time been confirmed? The problem is not knowing the hotel I think. The time on the gas receipt in Raleigh could've been early for all we know and not necessarily when he hit the road so to speak.

Close, the Greensboro idea was great. I'm thinking somewhat along the same lines, closer yet to that town NW of Raleigh that begins with a D - I'll get the name in a sec. If he planned to kill her why travel that far and do all that extra driving. If I were him I'd want a few hard shots under my belt to finalize my plan, I don't think he was thinking about finite details at that point, but rather a general alibi for checking into a motel and then sneaking back home in the dead of night to kill her. Who could prove he was there? After the kill, the road up to 77 goes right thru this town. That way he could change into his suit, dispose of his package and be anyplace for a 9am meeting 5 hours away if he left that D town by 4am. Doable I think!

LE got those receipts from the SUV then they go and get phone records, etc. They have questions still about this alibi and he isn't talking according to the Sheriff.
