I thought the condolences were offered at the funeral. I seem to remember a detective saying that and he wanted to set up a time afterwards or something to speak to JY.

It was reported that Sheriff Harrison did say that he would wait till after the funeral for an interview with Jason but I also recall someone saying "I know it's a bad time and offering condolences, but I need to ask you some questions. Was that the Major Johnson from the other report? Anyone besides me remember that?

In the report early on in this case I assumed it was Meredith that called but even if it was Meredith that gave LE Jason's parents number that report did state they called there as an only way of reaching him at that time. The jist of it not exact words. That tells me two things;Meredith knew he was expected there so how? VM I think. They tried his cell phone and got no answer.

ETA: We didn't originally know his contact was a vm, it was reported as a call from Jason to Meredith.

Hmmmm. OK. I thought they may have phoned the parents to see if they knew where he was. I thought they might have been surprised to find out that he was actually expected there. I still have a hard time believing that they would break the news to the parents. They're not next of kin. I thought LE was very strict about these things.

Now I'm wondering if they did get Brevard LE to go over to the house but they had already left. Sounds to me like they were a little pizzed if they said to Mrs Young - "JY better be with you" if we are to believe gojo.

Wow, this place has hopped tonite. I don't think I'll get caught up.

Someone (sorry short term memory problem lol ) was mentioning the furniture that JY was to pick up. Don't know what it was exactly but I remember reading that they were originally going to pick this up at Thanksgiving but then JY decided that he'd have more room to do it if he just picked it up by himself.

Jilly, you are right about what we thought which is why I thought Meredith actually called his parents. Remember we speculated that we wanted to know if it was that morning that he called and said he was going to drop by. He needed somewhere to be that was far away until she was found. Then we found out the call was a voice mail and Gojo said he planned it the night before. You're also right about the thanksgiving part too. This does get confusing I know. Still don't know if he told Meredith he was going there or not but it seems logical that he may have. I don't discount Brevard LE going there either because it was discussed here in the early days of the case.

I want to know what they're missing. It can't only be fingerprints from unknown people.

Whose hair was it on her hand?

If it was Michelle's hair, then the following is moot..

Was it examined before it was removed?
Was the topside of the hair shaft completely covered in the blood it was stuck to or was it only partially covered or stuck by the underside of the shaft only?

Just thinking out loud....

Thinking out loud with you - if the hair was covered by blood,an excessisive amount of blood would that lean more toward the hair being attached during contact with the murderer ? If only covered on the bottom side of the shaft would that lean more to a hair being randomly attached as perhaps she fell and brushed against the hair ?

OK, seriously, I think there was mention of an interview on the phone with JY's family when they broke the news. LE said they spoke briefly to JY on the phone on the way back to raleigh and he immediately referred them to his lawyer. No doubt in my mind he had counsel before leaving Brevard and had nothing to do with friends. ITA with all of you that LE had much more to do than call JY's buddies and ask them any questions.

Obviously they would look at the husband first. Common knowledge, so I don't think that was a huge deal. I'm sure LE thought it was suspicious that he was out of town but surely could have been coincidence. Something tells me there was something in the house that implicated JY immediately. Not that there was no signs of forced entry but something else, something personal. The wedding photos come to mind immediately but can't say for sure. For some reason, I think those pictures are going to be a key factor as well as his big old feet :) .

Hi Pack_Fan,

The wedding photos have come up a lot, I just wonder if there is a simple explanation to LE taking the photos. They are photos of the victim, showing what she should look like, and of their main poi.

Yes, Major Johnson spoke 'briefly" to JY after Midnight when he returned to the Raleigh area (MF's home). He simply said " you need to talk with Mr Roger Smith jr, my attorney."

Wow Deadsville! I just came to say HI, and can't believe there is just nothing happening in this case!

I wish we had some idea if LE ever did any searches for the accoutrements to the crime? Wouldn't it be cool if a profiler stopped by to give us an idea of where the killer of this particular type of crime would have ditched these things? Weight them and toss them in a lake he was familiar with close to the house or drive with them till he found the perfect dumping spot, and risk getting pulled over and caught with the goods!

it is rather dead, lol...

Just came back from ctv. The fighting, insinuations and the 'outings' are just ridiculous. If people behaved over there they wouldn't need to come back reincarnated.

Scandi,

I'd say that within the amount of time LE were at the house, the outside would have been 'done over like a dogs dinner'. We didn't see it because they didn't have news crews there for the entire time.

Off to do some other stuff with my little man. He's 6 today and is tearing through the house dressed in a muscly Superman suit and a Spiderman mask calling out "Super Spidey"! lol.

Hugs til later when I check FF :)

Okay, you've done it now Scandi, :slap: if a new poster suddenly comes here masquerading as a profiler...it'll be your fault!:o

Sami,

I was at CTV earlier myself and you're right, it was painful.

I love the image of Superspidey! I'm far from home and it makes me miss my nephews - all Spiderman freaks. I'll bet your boy will never have another birthday that you don't think of Cassidy.

It's now 3am here, I wish I could sleep. Perhaps I'll head back over to CTV for a bit, that might put me to sleep! lol

G'nite for now

Speaking of "accroutrements" someone brought up at the other site the fact that he may have taken the towel & soap that he used after showering. Would this guy do that?? Another poster pointed out that his skin cells etc would be there because he lived there so it wouldn't matter.

I'm thinking that could certainly lead to - no evidence of another perp being evidence.

Plus, if he did leave the towel there and there was a spot of Michelle's blood on it with his skin cells (and nothing foreign), I think that's incriminating. What do you think Scandi?

I'm seeing a possible ray of hope here and I guess that's what happens when there's no information.

I'm back. I went back over to CTV and I was reminded about something that came up earlier tonight - they're so busy fighting over there they didn't give it much discussion. Anyway, an early insider poster, who appears to have been credible, was quoted as saying that Michelle was concerned that Jason had been depressed, so much so that she wanted to go but now wasn't a good time. (I'm paraphrasing but that's pretty close). The posters who did discuss it seemed to have a different take on what was being referred to by "now not being a good time to go", i.e. go permanently (leave him) or go away for the spa weekend. Either way, if he was depressed, and she was that concerned, that could very well be what the therapist visits were about and what the DA is so interested in.

My:twocents: I'll go back and see if there was more discussion about it.

Hi Utopia! I remember when that was originally posted and it had nothing to do with the Spa weekend imo. I'm pretty sure it was because of his depression. I think he might have been between jobs or something.

I'm just hoping Michelle had a few sessions with this therapist - mind you, a lot can be covered in one hour.

I'll be back later.
