Good point.

And...why doesn't JY or his family just ask Linda??? :)
Or, maybe Jason isn't all that worried about the jewelry? I bet he's got much bigger concerns right now.

Jake,

Who's so worried about this jewelry? Jason? His family? You?
And why? Because of the value, or because they're trying to fit this into their theory of an intruder that murdered Michelle?

yes. it would be a shame to find out the "valuable jewelry" is merely costume jewelry.

a professional thief would know better than to steal "paste."

and even a drug-crazed thief could tell the difference between rhinestones and diamonds. diamonds cut glass.

yeah. it has to be VALUABLE JEWELRY or it just does not fit their defense theory.

I'm lost...who allegedly embezzled from their employer? JY?
I'm confused on that comment.

the ex-wife of jay's stepdad, spent a few years in prison for embezzling from her employer. it's a fact. her name is in the system.

jay isn't paying for his defense; his parents are.
and they have a LOT to lose --- eveything that they worked for their whole lives.

he's guilty. his defense will be costly.

jay should end this whole charade.
he did it.
he needs to admit to it and take his punishment LIKE A MAN.

imo

RS taking this to trial will cost at least $750,000+. I would bet there is a plea agreement like Ann Miller Kontz. She had RS sr and neither she nor her parants could afford him at the end of the day.

if linda has the jewelry, then it is safe. she'll give it to Cassidy when she is old enough to know its significance.

if jay were to get his hands on it, it would be sold to pay for his defense.

Hi Saint,

That goes without saying!

A Mom is a Mom and forever a Mom!

The jewelry is a big fat red herring. "If" Michelle's jewelry was missing when JTF came in, linda probably took it for Cassidy. Either way, it has ZERO to do with this murder

I promise.

--Jake

those are both easy promises for you to keep, jake.

you're retired and the pitter-patter you and your wife will hear around your house are the grandkids.

now jay, on the other hand...

lots of red herrings.

what else do they have?

jay did it and they must know that in their hearts.

the person who said that the inherited jewelry was "valuable" was JTF.
it could turn out that the TRUE value of the inherited jewelry is sentimental and not monetary.

imo

Interesting you should mention sentimentally.

I possess a "peach pit" basket that my grandfather carved after eating a peach as a young man. One of my most treasured possessions!

Wonder what Cassidy ends up with, IF the Youngs are left to their own devices?

if jay's 2 houses (Birchleaf and the condo) are mortgaged to the hilt, guess who gets stuck with paying RSmith's gigantic bill?

that's right --- mrs young, stepdad and jay's siblings.

gojo said he'd mortgage his house, right? i find that a hollow gesture.
unless he is related to jay by blood or marriage, he's not going to go broke defending jay (unless he can swing it on the backend of a book deal).

Saint,

I sadly agree with you. Scott Peterson had NO PROBLEM watching his parents systematically selling off near-'bout everything. Granted, they did it willingly.

I do not believe that Jason has the RIGHT to deprive his Mom and Step-Dad of a house in their declining years. BUT, as surely as I am typing this, that WILL happen.

Wonder if it will ever bother him?

WHAT?? Did I miss somthing here?? Meredith LIVED (??) with Michelle & Jason??? :waitasec:

Hi Niner! I've read Dep's & Scout's replies.

It was my understanding that she was Cassidy's nanny and lived with them in their townhouse. I mentioned this about the jewellry because I just assumed that she would know what Michelle had since she had lived with them.

I could very well be wrong though!

small claims or petty larceny vs. grand larceny.

i do not believe that the inherited jewelry is missing or stolen.

and if any trumped-up charges are filed, a jury would vote "jury nulification"
and make sure that jay does NOT get his hands on michelle's jewelry and award them to someone who will hold on to them for Cassidy.

imo

Not missing? Not stolen? Where is it? The family has said it is missing.

According to JTF, the missing jewelry was already gone when Meredith found Michelle's body. Also, JTF posted that investigators were asking everyone (friends/family) for descriptions of Michelle's jewelry from the beginning. So, contrary to Mimi's stalwart belief, Linda could not have taken the jewelry after the house was released by LE. IMO, the killer took the jewelry.

I agree. Find the jewelry, find the killer.

Police officers, maybe? If the killer took the jewelry, LE is concerned.

What makes you think his parents are paying for anything? I'm just curious.

Well, actually Jason and his lawyer don't have a defense theory....unless you know something the rest of us don't.

And just why is this lady being brought into this discussion? Do you really think it belongs here?

I'm sure you don't realize it, but you are accusing Linda of being a thief. I hope she's not. I think the killer took the jewelry, and that is not a herring of any color.

I agree, Jason took the jewelry to make this murder look like a break in gone bad. But as we know - he failed to make it look convincing.
