1427 and 65.

Cases up again. Deaths also up. Getting so I don't want to check.

I stepped away from following cases so closely for a couple days. Checked the Johns Hopkins site this morning, they have changed the site a bit, it's worth a peek. Now you can see each states curve, which is something I have wanted for awhile now. We are not near flattening yet, IMO. But you can see it in some state's curve, which is so encouraging to see.

FINALLY... Yes. The cases are up, but not as much as previously. AND, no deaths.
Monday reported 29 new cases of COVID-19, creating a total of 1,650 cases in the state, but no additional deaths

It's so frustrating to me that people with symptoms of Covid-19 are not being tested. I'm an RN, retired 2018 from Fairview Princeton hospital. I saw on FB today a former co-worker posted a video of one of the docs talking with a minister. He said that Mille Lacs has no official cases, but daily he gets calls from patients who have fever, cough. He said they can't test them. The nurses triage patients, and if they need to be in the hospital they are sent to Bethesda. I'm afraid that based on skewed data that we will open too soon.

Agreed that the numbers are higher than reported n Mille Lacs. I'm guessing they are also higher in other places. No way to see a doctor except online, and many are hesitant to go to the ER.

Minnesota numbers are in the lower of the states, but they are still rising. 1912 cases and 94 deaths (04/16)

Gov Walz seems to be doing the right thing. He's also keeping a lower profile. The stay at home is effective through May 13.

Inserting opinion. Hold the line, Governor Walz. Protestors go home. You're infecting others.

My girlfriend's mom was in a nursing home and died this morning. She had dementia. Started to run a low grade fever yesterday, so they moved her to a more isolated area, and they were going to do a Covid-19 test. The staff called my friend at 5:45 this morning and said her mom died 30 minutes prior. Her temp was 102, no other symptoms. They didn't test her because they said they are only allowed to do x number of tests per day, or use only x number of test kits per day. They asked my friend if she could ask the funeral home if they can test her mother. We're both RNs and just can't figure it out. Why test now? There won't be an autopsy, mom had other health issues. I guess I'm just wondering out loud. I keep hearing about all the test kits available, so why would a nursing home be limited in how many tests they are allowed to perform each day?

OMG. How awful. Only allowed to do so many tests per day?

04/21 Still rising.
2567 cases (up 97 since yesterday)
160 deaths (up 17 since yesterday)
When we have 14 consecutive days of stability, we can relax, according to the WH task force. Not happening in Minnesota. Not the time to relax orders.

2721 cases
179 deaths
Minnesota is still climbing. Stay inside, despite the nice day, or keep social distancing if you go out.

Every Minnesotan with COVID-19 symptoms to get tested, funded in part by $36 million from the COVID-19 Minnesota Fund. It will also help establish a capacity to deliver 20,000 molecular and 15,000 serology tests per day.

Yes, that's what my friend was told. They did their allotted number of tests already that day. Her mom started with the fever in the evening. As our numbers rise it's becoming more concerning to me, as my husband and I are over 65 and he has RA and so has a compromised immune system. We are just going to continue to lie low I think despite what the rest of the state will do.

Just gotta say this. I'm a person where things need to really sink in before I react. Suddenly today I actually felt like crying. Maybe it's just that at least in Minnesota, things are not getting much better.

Minneapolis today announced closures of all playgrounds, sport courts (basketball, tennis, volleyball), and skate parks because people are not following social distancing. Minneapolis is now following St. Paul in keeping its parks open, but removing basketball rims, as well as tennis nets, with soccer and athletic fields also due to close.

04/25 11:00a report
3444 cases (the third one-day high total in a row)
244 deaths

I don't know about other states, but MN has a State Fair scheduled for Aug 27 - Sep 7. It draws about 2 million people. Time to cancel. IMO, of course.
