Here is a thread about the GJ as far as video from media being requested by October 18th...

That is just too logical ....for this case anyway.

Hubster was a firefighter and when he was home we kept phone on chargers on counter..but when he went to work I slept with the cell next to me and the scanner on half the nite.

Electricians can have accidents seems to me she would have wanted phone close by. IMO

oh my gosh, yes. I pride myself on my ability to be logical and not get spooked- but my husband was out of the country for 7 days and I was relieved every morning when my 4 year old got into bed with me.

I not only kept my cell phone by my bed as opposed to it's usual spot on the counter, but also the land line. This is after I double checked the locks on all doors as well as child proof lock on the front door.

PS- this was not a good story to break right before my husband went away.

Naming a suspect or charging them causes the perp to lawyer up. Going to the Grand Jury will make sure all evidence is sorted out and testimony regarding the evidence is on the record. The GJ can question people formally and under oath about the information they have related to the case and furthermore, no attorney for the perp is allowed in.

It is the way to go if they want to indict down the line.

The attorney is not allowed IN during the questioning - but the witness can stop and go into a separate area and consult with their lawyer before answering, at least that is my understanding.

If this case goes to the GJ, they have some pretty solid evidence....and a suspect in mind.

Then why not just charge her now?

Also arresting someone means that the clock starts ticking. They only have a certain amount of hours to formally charge someone. Those charges have to be backed up with evidence. They'll take their time and make sure they have enough evidence to hopefully get an conviction of whomever they arrest. There's no rush. JMHO

ETA: I don't know what they could arrest anyone with at this time, but then again I don't know what they've found so far.

Your right. When someone is charged with a crime, their right to a speedy trial kicks in. And yes, to be charged with a crime you do need evidence that a crime has been committed by said person. Do we have that yet?

During the GMA interview from this morning (10/17) Debra made reference to LE showing her a type of ping sheet (paraphrasing) from her cell phone.

Which is another reason why I believe they know the phones are close to the house. Unless one of them was pinging away from the home and then back at the home. Which would be a whole 'nother ball game.

Why don't the reporters ask what kind of phones they had and whether they had GPS? Just pings would give them a much larger radius to search and they don't seem to be doing that. So frustrating. :banghead:

MOO

I think I put a piece of the puzzle together by researching how pings work:

Debbie probably has a MODERN cell phone, that has current location technology equipped into the phone.

This is probably why she got the old school cell phone from her Grandpa on Sunday night - in preparation for the excavations she would be taking the following day. She switched to that phone so that she would not be detected by her modern cell phone giving away her location.

MOO.

Gee, all these parents of "missing" children seem to have an awful lot of problems with their cell phones-missing, broken, borrowed....hmmmm? Eerily reminiscent of all of the Anthony's cell phone drama-lost, broken, prepaid....

Ain't that the truth...

Just wanted to put in here that during one of the media interviews today, Fox MK I believe, DB and JI were asked if they ever tried to call the missing phones that night/morning. Both of their responses were no.

They also indicated that they hadn't paid the bill so their cell phones were on restricted access and they couldn't use them to call out, which disputes the claim that a call was made at 2:38am in their opinion.

Now would they know that they could call out for 911 only? I didn't know that. But they claimed that they tried to get the phones to do just that before they remembered JI had one in his pocket.

However it seems as though they are indicating that the phones could take calls? So maybe the call was incoming...and it was answered?

How could they have tried to get the phones to do that if the phones were missing? Did I miss something...

The link provided is the link with regards to why the Grand Jury is meeting on Tuesday, of which, has ONLY to do with video footage from the media of interviews the family has done.

We do not know if there are any future meetings schedules with the Grand Jury regarding Baby Lisa's disappearance.
