Great post Chiquita! I noticed that GA managed to twice state, in the exact same words, that "my daughter is a separate issue"...
"We're looking for Caylee, don't look at my daughter" is a weird message IMO.

Thank you, George does state that Casey is a
separate issue from Caylee, twice as you point out. Weird message I agree. Deep inside he does not trust what Casey has said is true and that is why he says they are "hoping" Caylee was "with a friend," someone his daughter knows. Casey told him that Caylee was with someone she knew, Zanny. If he believed Casey there would be no need for him(them)to be hoping Caylee was with someone Casey knew.
I think even George knew better than to try to sort out what Casey had told everyone, he had been down that 'hallway' before with Casey and knew if there was any chance of getting Caylee back it was best to go over Casey's head and make Casey a "separate issue", relying on the media and even those who
had Caylee to help more than Casey: "We're just hoping everything is, is good as far as my granddaughter's concerned and
with your guy's help and the other media that we've talked to and reporters and things like that we're just hopin' that they can facilitate gettin' our granddaughter back here I mean, hopin' that someone that sees it or is gonna realize that our granddaughter has this home..." I would say this comes the closest to a plea any Anthony ever made for Caylee's return.
my daughter is, at an area that she's gonna be getting some assistance and uh, she's gonna have to deal with what has happened
Had Casey been charged with child neglect at this point? Because I do wonder what George is trying to say here...that she was "at an area that she's gonna be getting some assistance." Is that because she had been arrested? Is he speaking about her being in jail? Then he says Casey is going to have to "deal with what has happened" and all I can think is he speaking of her having child neglect charges against her? Because if he's not...? This is the only time I have seen an Anthony place
any responsibility on Casey. George actually says Casey is going to have to deal with what has happened. What else could he mean by this? TIA
Q:
What can your daughter tell you, what has she told you about where she is do you think?
GA: Well,
we're hoping that she's ah, that she's with a, you know ah, ah friend, someone that my daughter knows and...she's okay. We're just hoping everything is, is good as far as my granddaughter's concerned.
(snip)
George is asked point blank "what has she told you about where she is" and George launches into how they are "hoping" that Caylee is with a friend, "someone that my daughter knows." Which is inconsistent if George and Cindy truly "just believe what my daughter said about this person." Because George's answer to the question should have been "Casey told us she was taken by the nanny."
Thanks Lambchop(I will learn to multi quote! I'll make it a New Year's resolution! LOL. No really, I will...) I never would have thought about George's background in LE being a factor in his change of tense, thank you. We both got the same idea though, part of him knew Caylee was gone
and by the hand of Casey.
George had already looked to the sky at the tow yard praying that what he was going to find as the source of the smell in the trunk of the Pontiac, not be Caylee. And he uses the word "hoping" several times because even though he knew, it was early enough to still do some hoping but his and Cindy's misstatements and missactions: i.e. the lies -show they were torn.
(other things I found interesting)
The 'fact' that George saw Caylee a day after Cindy has not changed: only the two dates have changed, 15th June vs. 16th of June: George here says that the last date Cindy saw Caylee was the 8th June while the last day he(George)saw Caylee was the 9th. The dates are different but the events are the same.
In this report it is stated that Casey and Caylee had not been seen by George and Cindy, since they had
moved out of the Anthony home. It is stated twice by the person doing the report/interview and is not corrected by George. It goes unchallenged twice by George the statement that Casey had moved out with Caylee. This interview is from early in the case, IIRC around the time right before this or right after is when Cindy makes her statement that Casey took Caylee to bond. Then we have Cindy's Myspace entry for July 3rd, which tells us they left "unexpectedly."
Misstatement? This question has been asked many times in many ways: were George and Cindy aware that Casey was taking Caylee and not coming back or are they saying everything was okay? They have said both, and that is one example of why it has been said the Anthonys are liars. IMHO, even if you accepted this as a misstatement- if you accept what Cindy says, that Casey and her whole family have had their statements twisted, it does not explain why they have not felt compelled to clarify. The nanosecond I think someone has misunderstood me or may have, for what ever reason, misconstrued my words-I feel strongly about correcting myself. Casey sat in jail saying all the information she was giving was being twisted by LE, twisted by the media and when given several chances to clarify, Casey chose silence. Continues to chose silence. Everyone is different, no doubt because that is very different from how I would react to people twisting my words to make it seem like I was a liar who had killed my daughter.
Can a jury request to hear the defendant take the stand? I have said this before, but if I were on that jury-I would have to hear what Casey had to say before I could vote. Even if it was a new written statement, approved by her council-something, anything. Does she know her life is at stake?
She is one cool cucumber. :tsktsk:
