I'm surprised that Misty didn't appear in court. If I were locked up 23 hours a day, I would welcome the chance to leave if only for a little while. I'll bet she is sinking into a depression now that she sees there's little chance of her being bailed out. Her losing 7 pounds shows that she must be suffering. More videos, please.

Maybe RF knew it would be a media circus and that Misty couldn't be counted on to behave. The girl likes to speak. I think she is finally clueing and listening to her lawyer.

I think it's standard for a defendant to plead not guilty, during their first appearances. This gives the attorney time to negotiate a plea deal with the state, if one is to be had. I don't see anyway this is going to trial. Were she to plead guilty the judge would have to sentence then and there. Even though the defendant may be guilty as sin, I have never heard of one pleading guilty in the early stages.

I have even heard defendants, up for their arraignment, tell their attorney they wanted to plead guilty and the attorney pulls them aside and explains that the judge doesn't want a guilty plea now...as it forces him to sentence the defendant.

IIRC, Dennis Rader pleaded guilty at his first appearance.
