Assuming to drive a manual car, right? The spot was where Beau took Jackie for driving lessons.

And 5 kids seemingly orphanedThe whole criminal enterprise only lasted 4 days. Beau dead, Jackie charged with murder, in custody , 2 men charged with murder for hire, and in custody, one man still to be apprehended, charged with murder for hire ..
All that for 4 days. That's about 200 years prison time all up between the four of them.
On the surface , that seems to be a likely explanation.. a fatal flaw, but , obviously, at no time does she appear to have thought this whole venture through.I just don’t understand how Jackie thought she was going to get away with this! Does she think Angolan LE are dumb?
So well said! We do say this about so many cases….especially, it seems, the husbands who kill their wives and claim they are missing/kidnapped, etc. Lots of dumbness. On the surface , that seems to be a likely explanation.. a fatal flaw, but , obviously, at no time does she appear to have thought this whole venture through.
Nor, her accomplices, either, it's like they all seemed gripped into some fantasy, where money floats down from heaven, the killers ride off into the sunset, ( which would be straight into the Atlantic Ocean ) Jackie and Elias live a life of blissful sexual satisfaction in a kraal somewhere in the Karoo desert, far away from the dumb sticky fingers of Manuel 's Angolan coppers....
The kids,, I don't know what part they play in the fantasy, .. some nonsensical thing, like Elizabeth Downs, where she has these nannies and they all live in their own compound, and she just swans around bestowing kisses occasionally...
There is an element , not just of ruthlessness and cruelty in this , but unfathomable , immeasurable, incomprehensible stupidity of a denseness not often seen, not even in Minnesota.. it has a Coen Brothers Fargo component in it, all that's missing is bleak snow.
You'd have to have a bit of sympathy for the Ambassador , and particularly , Embassy staff, one of whom will be delegated for the next 40 years to over seeing Jackie's well being, pharmacy needs, dietic needs, clothing needs, footwear, books, etc, etc, etc.... someone wrote back a bit that she might be extradited, not really, the crime took place in Angola and that's where she serves her sentence, unless some wizard in the Foreign Affairs dept can rustle up some poor Angolan languishing in a a prison in Texas somewhere, and State Dept, agree to an exchange.. the chances of that would be slim to none.So well said! That we know of, anyway. The whole criminal enterprise only lasted 4 days. Beau dead, Jackie charged with murder, in custody , 2 men charged with murder for hire, and in custody, one man still to be apprehended, charged with murder for hire ..

What I meant was, , the fantasy consequence only lasted 4 days.. from the killing, to the arrests and indictments.. the price to be paid for that seems so far out of rational thought that the basis for the concept must have been grounded in insanity of a collective mind hive.. ( the French always have a word, a phrase , for everything... )That we know of, anyway.
They hadn't been back in Angola very long had they? In which case this may have been planned before they went home on furlough. That would have given Jackie the chance to get some money together, eg maybe sell a few things. And then she could hardly wait to get back.
Yes. Entitlement, ignorance, and lack of fellow-feeling. IMO likely Beau and Jackie completely misunderstood the country they were in, and they were disliked (the photos show lack of enthusiasm by locals). I'll bet it didn't even occur to her that she'd be charged in Angola, because she is not "them". Perhaps she assumed she'd be extradited (nope) or rescued.I just don’t understand how Jackie thought she was going to get away with this! Does she think Angolan LE are dumb?
This is how missionaries raise their "salaries".She has posts on her Instagram about traveling to various churches in the US while they were here in the summer, speaking and raising money. This post alone lists 5 churches she had visits scheduled at and the post says she'd been speaking at churches "Every Sunday, since we arrived in the States". I wonder how the money raised at these churches was managed. Was it handled completely by Jackie?
That selfie is in a bathroom? I'm sorry, but that's weird. She has posts on her Instagram about traveling to various churches in the US while they were here in the summer, speaking and raising money. Did the Stroyers ever even mention other missionaries? The missionary community? You'd have to have a bit of sympathy for the Ambassador , and particularly , Embassy staff, one of whom will be delegated for the next 40 years to over seeing Jackie's well being, pharmacy needs, dietic needs, clothing needs, footwear, books, etc, etc, etc.... someone wrote back a bit that she might be extradited, not really, the crime took place in Angola and that's where she serves her sentence, unless some wizard in the Foreign Affairs dept can rustle up some poor Angolan languishing in a a prison in Texas somewhere, and State Dept, agree to an exchange.. the chances of that would be slim to none.
It's such bad timing, too, with a Presidential visit coming up in December , to Angola..
One can only imagine how cross and peeved all the other missionaries are, the sturm und drang heaving around among the Baptists, and the Pentecostals and the Anglicans!,,, having to try and explain all this to their followers, all the huffing and pursed lips,, all the questioning of precepts, and faiths, and sermons, and principles, etc.. .. lots of grumbling and floofing going on ,lots of side eye squinting, lots of reviewing of actions... one can presume...

It’s surprising the number of people who do that. I was going to post the same thing. That selfie is in a bathroom? I'm sorry, but that's weird.
Missionaries never mention other missionaries publicly, everyone knows that. Competition is fierce, and never ending, not a lot of collegiate mixing..Did the Stroyers ever even mention other missionaries? The missionary community?
I've seen her post a lot of 'bathroom selfies' of both her and her daughters. I presume that it is because it's at times when they are out somewhere special (with a nice bathroom) and they are more dressed up and made up than they are on typical days. And, these bathrooms have large mirrors that enable a more distant selfie. It’s surprising the number of people who do that. I was going to post the same thing.
Truly a White SaviourYes. Entitlement, ignorance, and lack of fellow-feeling.
