This is what I don't understand about the State... IF drugs had nothing to do with his death, than who cares if it was a pill. Blackwell just made a big deal about it, whether Fowler said it was a pill or not. The jurors who are not nodding off most likely believe it was a pill with all the evidence they have seen, so it seems silly to try to convince them otherwise at this point IMO

Jurors spoke to the composure of the prosecution atty Jeff Ashton in the Casey Anthony trial which "turned them off". Indeed, a fine line.

I think most successful criminal trial attorneys whether defense or prosecution have a little bit of the ham in them. Being a bloodless reciter of facts doesn't engage the jury.

Blackwell trying to get Fowler to admit that the item in GF mouth inside Cup Foods is gum and more likely than not it is the same white object GF may have had in his mouth during the prone footage.

You aren't telling or suggesting to the jury the white substance was a pill, are you?

I never claimed the white object was a pill.

IMO I think it depends on the questioning that the defense did. This witness went totally left field with this carbon monoxide thing and I think Blackwell is trying to tell the jury that the defense is throwing so many different theories out there because even THEY don’t know what killed George Floyd.

I think the defense knows very well what killed George Floyd.

But yes, the defense is throwing any and every thing against the wall hoping to convince at least one juror that what they’ve seen and heard is not what they saw and heard.

If I was a juror, I’d be: 1) bored to tears; 2) angry; and, 3) insulted by this witness’ direct testimony.

My sentiments exactly! There is no justification only hired guns testifying IMO. Chauvin will be convicted. I think the jury instructions & closing arguments applying the law to the facts will inform us of which charges he is likely to be found guilty!

I think most certainly he will be found guilty most likely of the top charge.

I can't comprehend in this case any lone wolf going against the majority in the jury room.

I've seen all the evidence and I think it was gum. Why would he continue to hold a pill in his mouth, wouldn't he just swallow it... There was gum in the car he was driving as well as pills..

now trying to force Fowler to clarify on Dr. Raey's paper critical of positional asphyxia and prone restraint positioning. Dr. Fowler earlier stated that the paper was later withdrawn because it was inaccurate and only applied to the obese.

Blackwell brings out an affidavit from Dr. Raey stating he categorically did NOT withdraw or retract that paper critical of prone positioning as it relates to positional asphyxia.

Blackwell is snarky. I like it but it may be offputting to the jury.

I didn’t like the way the judge messed with Blackwell’s flow! State has a right to get snippy or have an edge to their cross examination. I’ve seen much worse! I’m sorry but this judge has been somewhat hostile towards the state and coddling the defense. JMO

I agree. But his tone and demeanor has noticeably changed since that last sidebar. I still don't like it, if I was a juror, but it seems much less "gotcha" in tone now.

He is definitely more agressive than he has been throughout the trial
