We are now finding out GF was in the vehicle with two drug dealers, possibly getting a variety of drugs. IMO, I’m going to say “getting” and not “buying” because I think there’s more to this.

I feel pretty sure that when Lane said he thought he saw 'them' putting something under the front seat, and he wanted to seat George in the squad car and go back and check the car he pulled George out of, it was because he suspected there were drugs under the front seat. He was having the parks police person watch the car.

I know we don’t know anything about the jury, but I’m wondering if any of them suffered from drug addiction. If so, I think all of the drug testimony might sway them from the defense.

You never can tell. There may be some who have gone through hell and had their family ruined trying to deal with a drug addict in their family.

I think it would depend if they had an addict in their family who did get help because they knew they needed it or knew they had a serious problem, but refused to get help.

But like I said you never know how any juror is processing any testimony. It may not be at all like we may process it.

I think the juror who may be vital is the nurse. They will look at this more clinically without emotions imo. They may have already seen the behavior being displayed by George before that day, and why patients were displaying this behavior.

Another thing, when Williams testified, I thought it was, can’t think of the word, “intense” maybe, when the defense asked him:

Nelson: “Did you call Chauvin a ******...?”
Williams, looks right at Chauvin, “Yes, I did.”

Nelson: “Did you also call Chauvin a *****...?”
Williams, looks right at Chauvin, and says “Yes, I did.”

Nelson: “Did you also call Chauvin a ********...?“
Williams, looks right at Chauvin, “Yes, I did.”

#DerekChauvinTrial - Nelson now going over Ross' FBI interview. Ross says Floyd was hospitalized for 5 days in March 2020 after an overdose. She saw foam coming from his mouth, took him to the hospital. Floyd complaining about severe stomach pain.

Likely the reason for Nelson's line of questioning is on May 25th, eyewitness said foam was coming from Floyd's mouth and on video you hear Floyd saying his stomach hurts. @LawCrimeNetwork

Ross "speculated" the source of those OD drugs was Shawanda Hill, who was also w/ #GeorgeFloyd that evening at Cup Foods. So now, the defense has established both Hill & Morries Hall, provided drugs to Floyd & was w/ him the night of his death.

- Ross says after the March 2020 overdose hospitalization, Floyd was "clean" until a couple weeks before May 25.

I worry for her safety? Publicly naming drug dealers?

How is the order of witnesses selected? Wondering if it would it have been better to have the bystanders go later, closer to decision time, or first to set the emotional tone.

So the time he was hospitalized before was due to heroin overdose. My understanding is heroine was not found in his system the day he died. It was fentanyl and meth. But we know there’s going to be medical testimony on the levels and they’re going to see it was really high fentanyl. But we also see him tap dancing in the store. BUT he took more once he got in the car. BUT again, he was walking and resisting getting in the back seat against 4 officers so that doesn’t exactly show someone that was overdosing. But I know very little about drug use/overdose.

Again, unless they can say that he would’ve died even with no police interaction none of this absolves Chauvin. But for Chauvin assaulting him and denying him medical attention he wouldn’t have died unless some medical expert says he would’ve. And I don’t know what credible expert would be willing to say that bc how in the heck can they know!?

What are you thinking? Either way, I feel he was crying out for someone to help him. I still stand by the fact that I feel he knew he was going to die, especially if he was crying out “mama I love you”, etc.

Prosecuting attorney Blackwell in his opening statement touched on these issues in an introductory manner, so as to not “candy coat” anything. Nobody is claiming GF was Mother Theresa.

I don’t think anyone here, or more importantly the prosecution, is trying to sweep anything under the carpet that GF had drug issues, ETC. This has been stated openly and upfront from the very beginning so as to address the facts.

Opiod addiction is something that people of all walks of life face, especially after a sports injury. I saw a whole Dr. Phil about high school athletes who suffer with this very thing. That’s why I’m scared to touch the pain pills even though doctors tell me to take them- I don’t want to get addicted because I know it can happen to anyone. And I personally know many this has happened to.

Whatever the case, the perhaps “unflattering side of GF's world and circle of friends“, which I’m sure will come up in more detail by the defense, will simply be putting George Floyd on trial, and not Chauvin. We can anticipate this defense tactic we all know.

(Reminds of this time I got hooked up on a date with this defense attorney. I said “tell me about the case you’re working tomorrow?“ He says, “Yeah, my client was caught with an underage girl”, and he basically said he was going to get up there and talk about how she dressed scantily, etc.

The date ended that minute.)

No matter what they say about drugs, I will never get over the body cam footage we saw yesterday. I don’t know how they can even claim that the death wasn’t DC’s fault when he was recorded by multiple sources kneeling on GF’s neck for far longer than necessary, even when he was no longer responsive. If they believed he was on something ALL THE MORE REASON TO CHECK HIM!

Yes, this is common MOO in a trial where there are victims of crimes that have past criminal behaviour. The prosecution wants to put out and acknowledge, in more favorable human terms that many can identify with... that not only "perfect" people are crime victims, and not all witnesses are "squeaky clean". Just because you are a criminal is less to consider as to death MOO. Heck, even the Colorado mass shooter 2 weeks ago is still alive.

Helps with the later attack that the defense will do on the victim MOO

I don’t think CR was unflattering atall. I found her real, raw and honest. Even when it came to talking about difficult subjects she gave truthful answers. Humanises GF even more to the jury IMO seeing how her face lit up every time his name was mentioned. I don’t think anything they say about drugs will take away from how disturbing the video footage we saw yesterday was MOO
