Does it sound reasonable to assign two newly qualified officers to go out on patrol together? In my opinion it would make more sense for one of the two to have had a bit more experience.
Same thing happened in Noor trial here in Minneapolis...two officers in car with very little experience....I think this happens because Minneapolis has had so many resignations in the last 5 years....maybe few senior officers left?

What really amazes me is that it looked like he had his hand around Floyd's wrist almost the entire time. After Floyd stops breathing, he moved his fingers down and appeared to be checking his pulse. Yet he kept his knee in place until the paramedic asked him toGLmove. After Lane got into the ambulance with Floyd, Chauvin told him to buckle him down. I think even Lane was surprised by that.

It was all theatre, IMO, to suggest he had no idea that GF was dead. He was already covering his a**.

We will all know each and every thing that is needed to MPS at this rate

Asking about training the officers and he seemed very keen on that

Earlier witness:

Jon Curtis Edwards, a sergeant with the Minneapolis Police, just took the stand in the trial of former officer Derek Chauvin, who is charged in the death of George Floyd.

He's been with the department since 2007, he testified. The prosecution is asking him details about the crime scene. Edwards said he was asked to go to the location of the incident to "secure that area" and make contact with any "officers that were there on the scene still."

Edwards said that he arrived to scene — 38th and Chicago — around 9:35 p.m. ET and only saw two officers there: J. Alexander Kueng and Thomas Lane. "There weren't many other people around when I arrived there," he noted.

Edwards said he had his body camera activated when he arrived, but the both officers did not have their body cameras on when he met them. He asked both of them to activate them.

The officers told Edwards where the incident with Floyd took place, and he instructed them to place crime scene tape around the area "so that we could preserve any potential evidence that was there.”

One thing that I've learned from following trials is that jurors expect that they will have explanations of all the exhibits. Glad that so much of this has time stamps on the exhibits so that jurors can make a time line as they don't have WS and WaPo to rewind to figure it out. ;)

Called to any suspicious death
When it’s obviously a homicide

Right now have 12 detectives. Work in teams. On call Monday through Monday

I go scene. Assess what death happens and then I call the team

Every morning I pull up all the cases and I will look through each report. I will assign a case which I might have questions about

Are you direct supervisor

Yes sir

He is no 1 officer in seniority. And humble with it

This is what I keep thinking about. 20 bucks. We don’t even know if GF even knew it was fake. Even if he did...Police are suddenly pointing a gun in his face. It was such a weird escalation by LE when he wasn’t being violent to anyone. Seemed to be high, yes, but not violent. Then it’s obvious to me that he’s having a major panic attack (I know them well). The whole entire episode seemed unnecessary to me. To end with him dying right there on the street over twenty dollars is insane.

Which LE vehicle did we see in a video with their siren on racing to the convenience store for a lousy $20 fake bill?
