and again and again....State is smart...close each of these witnesses off with that theme...it is critical in this case. I like this attorney...he is on task.
The superior officer that responded to the TAPED off scene, Zimmerman just said he has never in about 40 yrs of police work kneeled on a neck of a prone handcuffed person, because it is deadly.
Frank: What level of force might that be?
Z: That would be the top tier, the deadly force.
F: Why?
Z: Because of the fact that if your knee is on a person's neck that can kill them.
Zimmerman testifies he has never been trained to "kneel on the neck of someone who is handcuffed behind the back" in his time with MPD.
By handcuffing someone you have taken away the ability to harm you
Yes absolutely
If they become less combative you may have them sit on kerb. The idea is to calm them down. Help them so that they are not as upset as they were in beginning
This is all obvious stuff from Zimmerman - person in cuffs much less of a threat, kneeling on someone’s neck could kill them, etc - but big points for the prosecution.
Frank: What's your responsibility with regard to that person from that moment [handcuffed] on?
Zimmerman: That person is yours, is your responsibility.
His safety is your responsibility and his well being is your responsibility.
Zimmerman says "the threat level is just not there" once someone is handcuffed.
Zimmerman has been handcuffed as part of his training and says "it stretches the muscles back through your chest, and it makes it more difficult to breathe."

#DerekChauvinTrial - Zimmerman testifies it was close to 10pm when he arrives on scene. You can see him walking up in tan suit.
Zimmerman says he told Sgt. Edwards to get Kueng & Lane downtown and call more officers to the scene.
Zimmerman said he knew there was a "milestone" camera in that intersection, describing that the city has multiple cameras placed throughout the city to deter crime or help with investigations. This map shows the cams in yellow. [circled in red]
Zimmerman says every officer in the police dept. goes through use of force training once a year
Now talking about the "use of force continuum" policy. Zimmerman is asked if he has ever had to kneel on someone's neck. He says no. He says that would be the top tier on the continuum "deadly force'.
