10:00pm and the two "involved officers" are still on scene and talking to each other...presumably getting their stories straight. They should have been down at Room 100 much sooner than that. Lots of police missteps.

And their body cameras were shut off. Zimmerman had to tell them to turn them back on.

hmmm...

Keep in mind that it was just testified by the previous witness, on stand with body camera noting the time... that at 21:50:17 (9:21:17 pm) Jon Edwards told lane and Keung to get out of their car, and to immediately turn on their body cameras. That was done. Zimmerman arrives at 21:57:15 and Lane and Keung are in the street not near each other. The car was left running and no one touched until later towed after then turning it off! at 03:28:31 the next morning/overnight.

We don't know when theirs were turned off yet.

And yes, we have learned from at least Lane's affidavit that he (or he and Keung) reviewed the body cams in the car and potentially discussed with each other what was seen.

Indeed good that the world (oh yeah, jury) has all this video and time stamped evidence. MOO

First responders training cpr every other year or so

Is there obligation to provide medical intervention

Absolutely

Lane and Keung were so fresh on the job!! That contributed cross them escalating by trying to force GF in the car, which agitated him further and then Chauvin came and finished it off!! Smh.

Lt z said medical care should be given while waiting for emt

They on a break. Wow what a witness LT Z was!!!!

I am really interested to see what Nelson does with this one. As has been said best witness for the state yet. If this man had been on the scene much earlier Chauvin would have never been allowed to do what he did.

He was very credible! No nonsense but seemed kind. Best way I can describe him.

That was some seriously damaging testimony imo

It was all theatre, IMO, to suggest he had no idea that GF was dead. He was already covering his a**.
I think so too. That's probably why Nelson made sure he asked the paramedic if a person could become combative once they've been revived.

It still makes him look guilty, since he was more concerned about that than he was for Floyd's life.

At one point you can hear Lanr say "turn him on his side?"
And Chauvun replies "no"

Local anchors saying Zimmerman signed a letter along with others last year condemning Chauvin’s actions. Expect defense to say he’s biased blah blah blah

This witness has shown that there was actual ongoing training about what not to do to someone in custody. And Chauvin decided to do those things, anyway, despite knowing it could cause death, i.e., keeping him handcuffed while in prone position. And that doesn’t even include kneeing the person’s neck!

Murder.

I think the Chief is next on the stand but doubt they will get far with him today. He is going to be damning for the defense too. He is a good communicator...and very capable...his job is impossible thanks to a city council that will not give him money and a very stripped down police department these days. REsponse times in Minneapolis are terrible.

“No, he’s staying just the way he is.” (Paraphrased)

Closing with the Chief will be a great way to end, sending the jury home for the weekend with that!

ETA/ they’re saying the Chief won’t be testifying today. They won’t get to him. Ugh. I think Zimmerman’s cross will close out the day!

it would be great...not sure they will get that far...these breaks are long and there is a 12:30 stop today

Good morning. Just starting on reading the thread. Lots to read but watched this most recent witness. Who basically said once someone is cuffed they should not be layed in a prone position.....

Can't wait to read where everyone thinks the prosecution has met their burden of proof beyond reasonable doubt.

Wow, just wow.

We back!!

Asking Lt Z about body cam

Based on that you saw then officer c with his knee on gf

Yes

Was that a use of force

Yes

What was your opinion of that force

Obj sustained rephrased

  • #159
What is your view of that use of force

Totally unnecessary. Putting your knee on the neck for that amount of time is uncalled for. I saw no reason for the officers to feel in danger

It appeared he had stopped resisting

Absolutely I would stop!!

Nelson up
