If George Floyd died in his own home, the coroner's cause of death would be fentanyl overdose or heart disease complicated by fentanyl overdose.
We would not know Derek Chauvin's name.

But he didn't, hence the trial.

My question is this.
If Chauvin's knee was the reason George Floyd couldn't breath, then why was Floyd complaining he couldn't breath before he was on the ground?
If you look up the video on You Tube "Thomas Lane Bodycam Video of George Floyd's death, [email protected] on, you'll see it.
I'd post the link here, but for some reason it's labeled "Inappropriate or offensive for some users", so I won't.
Odd the media hasn't been playing this video. I wonder why.

I may be wrong, but I believe the first report from the Minn. PD, was that Floyd died at the hospital? If that's the case, then why , when Lane opened the ambulance door at timestamp 33.53, was the CPR machine no longer running?
I'm sure all this will be presented at trial, and we will hear from all the so called "experts" that are bought and paid for by each side to testify to whatever they want them to, but I just think the media has been bias from the beginning by only showing the video of Floyd from the bystanders phone. The date on this You Tube video was August 2020, so it's been out for a while. Then again, I may have missed it.
I do think this video will raise doubt as to whether Floyd couldn't breathe due to the knee on his neck, if he was complaining about not being able to breathe before he was taken to the ground. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Several times Lane asks Floyd what type of drug he took, He also states to the woman driving in the second ambulance that in his experience, people pass out from drugs and come back, so did Lane have any reason to think Floyd was dying? Did the same hold true for Chauvin?
Initial reports were at the hospital as that was protocol. We have seen and since learned that the ambulance stopped to let LE out. He was "pronounced" at the hospital per "protocol", but is clear he was dead at the scene when he was rolled up and whisked away. MOO
Lawyers Say $27M Settlement Could Seriously Impact Derek Chauvin's Trial
"Joe Tamburino, a criminal defense attorney not affiliated with the case, lays out some options Chauvin’s team has.
“They could make a motion for a mistrial based on an argument that there was some influence on a jury,” he said. “They could make a motion to change venue. They could also ask to have the seven jurors who have been picked so far to come back and be re-questioned.”
We reached out to the city of Minneapolis to ask why the settlement was announced before the trial’s concluded.
A spokesperson referred us to something City Attorney Jim Rowader said Friday at the press conference announcing the settlement.
“We’re trying to be very respectful of the criminal proceedings that are now underway and we’re in the middle of jury selection,” Rowader said. “I think it would be very wise for all of us to refrain from commenting on something that’s ongoing.”
Chris Stewart, an attorney for George Floyd’s family, said they weren’t going to delay justice in the civil suit waiting for the outcome in the criminal trial.
Moriarty says news of the settlement being out there could become an issue in a potential appeal, which is something the state wants to avoid."
You're right. In some states a Paramedic can declare somebody dead. Minnesota is not one.Didn't we read at one point that ambulance officers do not/cannot pronounce death? If a person is deceased in the ambulance, or before being put into the ambulance, they are declared DOA at the hospital?
I think that this is because there is a factor that experts in the hospital may be able to revive them (unlikely, but possible in some random cases).
As you say, protocol.
In media report after media report here in Minneapolis they are talking about the George Floyd Murder Trial. Seems a judgement has already been rendered?

He did not only have the knee on his neck, he had two people kneeling on his back where his lungs would be.I believe he asked if he wanted to flip him to the side. Chauvin said no.
