It’s also worth mentioning IMO that GF tested positive for marijuana, methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Anyone have a link for the full body cam video? TIA! I’m sure OBE would also like to review that video too.
This is a nightmare that gets worse every passing day. People are afraid for their lives over sitting on this jury. Scary times we are living in. Hard to even fathom what justice means right now. Zero winners and an abundance of loss with more to come. IMO
If you go to You Tube, and type in "Thomas Lane Bodycam Video Of George Floyd Death, You will see the full video.
I'm not sure if it's okay to post the link here, because viewer discretion is advised, so I won't.

any opinions on re-questioning the 7 jurors seated prior to the 27M settlement? It will make them think that this has an impact on the case and after having been seated not sure they will be quick to say much. I don't think we will get to hear that questioning...video with judge only I think.
I have an opinion....
I think if they are not questioned, it's going to leave it wide open for an appeal if he's found guilty.

Next juror #75: I don't want to be a part of this, but I do want to be a part of this.... it carries a big weight on your person. Me as a black man you see lot of black people. get killed and you wonder why .... and maybe I'll be in the room to know why.

He has been a juror before.

He's a "CNN guy" as to media

Juror stated "another black man being murdered by a police officer"

PJ 75 has been dismissed by the judge for cause.

Juror #76 identifies as a black man. Mixed feelings about serving on #DerekChauvinTrial jury. Tells defense atty, "you see a lot of black people get killed & no one is held accountable. You wonder why?" Here, he added, he could be "in the room" to understand why.

This is why I (and probably 99% of the folks that have followed multiple trials) at WS  like those cases in Florida focus on the ORIGINAL documents vs. mainstream interpretations. And we see how often in those circumstances, the truth vs. MSM. (That was when I stopped listening to Nancy Grace as she had sooooo much wrong, but shouted it from the rooftops to her viewers MOO)

ETA: Defendant has moved up to his normal spot...

Ita!

I've watched these kind of cases playout since Ferguson.

What I've observed when watching MSM is they seem to enjoy exploiting these type of cases possibly because of wanting higher viewer ratings. Many national MSM channels overall have drastically slipped in ratings. Imo, they seem to think cases like George's are the ones to cover to get more viewers.

As I've watched each city burn I've seen the MSM reporters on the ground, and it's like they enjoy egging on people's passions, and emotions that end in violent riots..

It's tragic, and very dangerous for everyone if any of the media is purposefully omitting facts about any story in order to boost their own ratings.

That is why I do not watch any of the MSM anymore who covers cases like this due to seeing in the past so much misinformation in what they reported.

Juror #76 when talking about the #GeorgeFloyd deadly arrest video. Described what he watched as "sad.. another black man being murdered in hands of police." #76 insists he understands a defendant is presumed innocent and he can follow the court's direction to serve as fair juror.

He says "As a Black man you see a lot of Black people get killed and no one’s held accountable for it and you wonder why." Of the George Floyd video, he said, “It’s another Black man being murdered in police hands.”

Chauvin’s attorney pressing Juror 76 about ability to be impartial.

Juror 76: “With my character and who I am, I think I can do what’s right”

Nelson: “So you believe without question you can ... judge this case based exclusively on the evidence..”

Juror 76: “Yes, sir”

PJ 76 says, "Being a black man in America I experience racism on a day to day basis." Nelson asks him how that would impact him on being a fair and impartial juror. He said he wouldn't.

George Floyd's prior behavior has to be taken in consideration. Along with his previous incarceration, and the criminal acts that resulted in the prison sentence.

That may be why Chauvin was so assertive, he considered Floyd extremely dangerous, given his large size, and violent criminal history.
Prior convictions are rarely allowed unless the defendant testifies, and then almost anything is fair game.
There are exceptions as to when prior behavior is allowed, but again, it's rare. For example There were witnesses that were allowed to testify in the Bill Cosby trial showing his MO. Ie. he drugged women before assaulting them. and that was a consistent pattern.
The question is whether or not Chauvin murdered him in this case, or not.

Kinda O/T, but right on OT. Many here for MONTHS never followed MSM as to COVID. Most all here at WS were focused on the drill down information vs. interpretations. That is how many us us were first to voice MSM was misinterpreting vs. facts and how harmful it was to the general population....

I'll say no more as to O/T if I go further... wanting to stay on topic for opinion/comparison.

#DerekChauvinTrial - PJ76 used to live in the area where this happened. On questionnaire he "Strongly Agreed" on if police are more likely to respond with force to black than whites. He said it's knows for police to ride through neighborhood and antagonize "us".

3m
Nelson asks PJ76 - You've experience this, lived in the area and you can still put all that aside?" He said, Yes.

2m
PJ 76 says would someone would get shot or go to jail police would ride through the neighborhood playing "Another one bites the dust." @LawCrimeNetwork

#DerekChauvinTrial - Regarding jury sequestration during deliberations, PJ 76 says he would need to discuss with his wife, his wife has a medical condition. He says it wouldn't be a hardship, "someone could come and stay with her."

6m
PJ76 says it might be difficult to view autopsy photos, but he's not sure. "I don't like the sight of blood and stuff."

4m
PJ 76 Defense uses a strike to dismiss. Now attorneys are going on the record. Nelson objects to having to use a strike saying this juror should have been dismissed for cause.

I have an opinion....
I think if they are not questioned, it's going to leave it wide open for an appeal if he's found guilty.
Also, if they are not questioned now and then later during deliberation one of the jurors uses the settlement as an argument for a guilty verdict there could be a mistrial.

I am wondering why these officers did not go with the option of a bench trial, as the officers did in the "Freddie Grey" case in Baltimore.

Was this option available? If not, why?

*waves* @Kakidoll

Would you support (not asking if opinion of guilty on such) that a charge of criminal negligence be added for true justice? Is there any criminal charge that might be appropriate as it is something I want to learn more about that he swallowed drugs before... but I haven't read much on, and have seen snippets he did such before. This is why I REALLY wish that we had Florida laws where we could see such information in the sunshine laws. I REALLY do! It would help for cases such as this MOO.

If indeed he did right before pop a bunch of fentynyl in his mouth to hide it.... that may indeed change opinions for such of some at  WS... so "duty for care" is the real issue..... or ???

r

Yes, i do believe negligence should be added. There were 4 officers there. They could have handled it differently, absolutely. Cuff him, put in the back of the car and let him kick out the windows if he wishes. The neck kneel was overkill. However he was on drugs, so stronger than normal, and they 'knew' him, from what i understand. Was he a risk to their lives??? But Murder and 27 million worth. Nope, not a chance i'll ever go for that.

From what I watched in the Thomas Lane video, Lane had no clue who he was. He was asking the woman on the sidewalk questions about him.

That depends on whether the settlement testimony is allowed . If it is, then it's fair game to discuss that during deliberation.

Do you think it is likely that a stipulation will be reached pre-trial to disallow settlement testimony?

Back from lunch. Juror #78 on stand. He just read a very raw Facebook post he penned shortly after death of #GeorgeFloyd touching on policing & racism. Sounds like he lives in the city, not far from the riots of last summer. Judge Cahill keeping him around for questioning. @FOX9

Juror #78 says he has seen some headlines on the case including debate over murder-3 & #Mpls $27M civil settlement with #GeorgeFloyd family. Says settlement didn't surprise him. Tells court "it's not pertinent" to the criminal case. #DerekChauvinTrial
