Do you think it is likely that a stipulation will be reached pre-trial to disallow settlement testimony?

I do think that an agreement will be reached pre-trial. It's up to the judge to allow the testimony. or not.

5m
PJ 78 about #GeorgeFloyd he wrote:

"George was intoxicated and using counterfeit bills. These are not good character or honorable actions but these are not actions that should bring about your death. "

4m
PJ 78 when asked by Nelson says she does believe Chauvin caused the death of George Floyd. Nelson asked if he could set aside that opinion he said he could.

2m
PJ 78 says It would be difficult to erase what he's seen and start at ground zero thinking Chauvin is totally innocent.

I am wondering why these officers did not go with the option of a bench trial, as the officers did in the "Freddie Grey" case in Baltimore.

Was this option available? If not, why?
Sure, the option was available, but not common with a crime this serious. Most felony trials are jury trials. Remember, Chauvin needs 12 to all agree he's guilty. With a bench trial, only one is needed to convict.

PJ 79 has watched the video 2 or 3 times and has seen clips on the news. He wrote that he remembers seeing one of the officer kneeling on #GeorgeFloyd's neck and other officers controlling the crowd. George was shouting or crying that he can't breathe.

PJ 79 wrote that he has a "neutral" opinion of Chauvin. He said he hasn't heard Chauvin's side. Nelson tells him Chauvin has the right not to testify. He says he'd like to hear from him but would follow the law.

5m
PJ 79 - About #GeorgeFloyd he wrote he had a “somewhat positive” impression about him because the media talked a lot about him in a positive manner and there have been a lot of demonstrations supporting him

Juror #78 says he has seen some headlines on the case including debate over murder-3 & #Mpls $27M civil settlement with #GeorgeFloyd family. Says settlement didn't surprise him. Tells court "it's not pertinent" to the criminal case. #DerekChauvinTrial

I have to say, the settlement figure didn't surprise me either.
Minneapolis settled on $20 million in Justine Damond's case. Which was said to be the highest settlement at that time. Justine's family asked for $50 million.

Police directly involved (as George likely wouldn't have died from drug ingestion/heart failure/anything at that time otherwise) and the city seems to be settling with large amounts lately.
