I was given permission to share these photos. This is what a "search warrent" can cause. This is what SCSO did to someone's home.

Can you figure out why two people in their 80s would be traumatized by this? They've come up with -0-. Why doesn't SCSO look at the other suspects....the convicted pedophiles?? Now there's homes worth tossing!!!!

The parents had zero idea that this would be what happens. And not only that, we have zero idea that this is what it looked like.

It's been five years, and with today's technology and forensics, they'd have answers...I would think. I'm going to need to look into this further, but I can't imagine why it would take so long; not today.....not on a high profile case, that would be a high priority.

Why are they still asking the general public for any information/clues? Being open minded, and considering other suspects is essential in solving crimes? It's fine if they still want to keep DR on the list, but they need to focus their energy to other potential evidence on other suspects, which I hope they are.

There's been at least 3 people trying to get LE to look at other evidence that's pretty strong on other suspects on LE's list. Hopefully they'll get this information FULLY investigated.

SCSO/FBI have obviously not had DR as their ONLY POI.

There were mistakes made. This is just something that needs to be considered.
This is a group effort....and not everyone is going to agree. ;)

Why did your perp get away with stuff for forty years?

Do you wish LE to manufacture evidence? I do not understand. Technology advances. The computer you onw today will be a loser in a year. Same with your phone, your frig, your furnace and on and on.

Jewelia,
Who was drinking all the Mountain Dew? [emoji13]

It takes a while to get true results, build a prosecution, if the POI does not choose to confess.

It does not take 5 years to run forensic testing on items. It could take 5 months, sure, but not five years. Have you ever watched the show Forensic Files? It's pretty amazing what types of evidence they are able to extract. I'm fairly certain that if there was evidence to be found, it would have been identified on the items within 6 months or so of that search. Forensic technology is pretty amazing.

IMO the new detectives assigned to the case took a stab in the dark to search the farm on a larger scale (which no one can blame them for searching it...clearly that should have been done many years earlier). I think they walked away with egg on their faces unfortunately when nothing of substance was found.

It reminds me a bit of the Amy Pragnac case last summer. They converged on the parents house and dug up the yard and a patio (? or some sort of landscaping) and they also dug out at the family farm. It created all kinds of media buzz and probably generated some new tips. Now we haven't heard a peep since. And we haven't heard a peep on the Wetterling case from LE since the 2010 dig.

I cant tell you what is happening with the items and DR. They are on a gag order from a judge. They have also said they are waiting for advancement in technology. The blood is 25 to 1000 years old.

I agree that it doesn't take 5 years to do forensic testing. What LE stated was they were holding the items to be tested for FUTURE developments in DNA and other type testing. Testing is always advancing. So they keep items seized in a search a long time (sometimes 25-30 years according to what bessie posted) for future developments in testing.

If the abductor was in the 35 - 45 age range, he would be 60 - 70 years old now. Lots of luck in future testing.

Can a judge legally order a dig and search warrant on a basis that 2 investigators had a hunch?

Really, we do not know what the place looked like before these pics were taken. There is a case where dead babies were found and the pictures of the interior of the house are astounding.

The pictures of the interior of the house of the guy who took Jaycee Dugard are astounding as well. Some people have stuff like this . It seems like it could have looked like that if you look at the crushed cup, for instance

Do you have before pics?

I don't think they would have as much trouble going though the rassier house, besides Dan's bedroom. It looks pretty conservative, bleak, and bare-

It's incredibly easy for LE to get a search warrant. They are almost never, ever denied.

Should they just give up?

  • #853
If it were my house, I would have INSISTED that LE search from top to bottom. I'm sure I would be terrified at the thought of the perp hiding out in my home.

Not saying anyone should give up. It just there is no timeline for when technology becomes available. How long will LE keep DR's things in the name of future technology? Will technology 100 years from now solve the crime for us or for the Wetterlings? Will technology after we're all dead and gone find Jacob Wetterling?

It certainly appears that LE with "technology" is trying to prove DR did the crime, not figure out with technology that someone else may have committed it.

"It Can't Happen Here" is now 'happening' in at least 10 states and 2 countries in Europe, and so far we've raised $325 for the missing children's organization.

What's more is that readers have made a few connections from information in the book, and contacted me with 2 interesting tips. Both tips have been passed on to Stearns County and the FBI.

Possible evidence of a parked car on the driveway, Footprint end at 2nd Telephone pole, Boys make a Telephone call to Clearwater, MN. Pedophile with CB/Scanner Radio.

This is a dumb question but could a scanner pick up a phone conversation just by being close to the telephone wires (pole).

I agree wit that!

There is just so much more that goes along with DR, bringing him to a POI in 2010.

Yeah, like he would be the only POI in the entire history of human criminal behavior, to have himself voluntarily placed under hypnosis - so that he could be interrogated (while hypnotized) by law enforcement for the purpose of providing "helpful" details about an abduction that he had committed. No wonder this case has remained unsolved for 25 years. There has never before, or will there ever be, a POI as deceptively brilliant as this.

  • #858
When you look at the big picture, you can see the abductor was never completely out of view. And if he was trying that hard to be concealed, why turn around inside the building site?

Clearly then, Jacob's footprints ended at a point that is not visible from either location on a dark moonless night. The earlier high speed Monte Carlo turnaround (by DR's assumed perp) could have been needed, so as to follow JW to the hockey rink.

I wonder how long it took DR to get to work the next morning. If he did have Jacob in his car which wasn't searched as he left the next morning where could he have gone to get rid of the body/evidence before arriving at school. Although that's pretty brazen to assume he wouldn't get searched on the way out. Takes some stones to do it right under LE's nose.

Yeah, and his room and personal effects including his computer were also searched all day while he was at school working. Nothing incriminating was ever found. He clearly has the biggest stones on all the earth, if he is as guilty of this - as some would suggest.

The one that sent dirt flying inside the building site? We would all like to know when he first told anyone about it. We would all like to know if he was concerned about it, why he didn't point those tracks out to LE right away. Or did he? like a role model teacher and a concerned neighbor should have.
