Trying to find something on the victim. As i said it's normal in a potential criminal case from the defendant's attorney if the case is going to be prosecuted.

Really? People are upset that her house was searched but people were digging into Castile's life. Was there front page news of the little sleeping girl shot by LE? How about the Edwards teen? There was a thread on WS about him but hardly any comments. How about the Native man? What is his name ? Bearears is it? How many comments on here ? Is he front page news?

The difference is glaring.

Yeah, check out the Zachary Bearheels thread.

As far as i am aware Justine made a call to LE twice as to what she thought was a possible crime in an alley where she lived because she heard screaming, and wasn't really sure about why someone was screaming.
I don't really know why she went outside and slapped a police vehicle to get their attention when she told dispatch her concerns previous to that. The reason we call LE is for them to check out the situation, but Justine went out to talk to them and i really don't know why because she ended up being shot.
When i lived in Florida with my husband an elderly lady across the street was the victim of a robbery by 3 teens. LE were all over the street, but i let them deal with it, and one LE did come to my front door to ask if i had seen or heard anything. I did see 3 teens run toward the main road but wasn't aware they were casing houses to rob. So gave the police officer the info. of what i saw. I guess everyone reacts differently to these situations and i am very sad that Justine died because of her actions in trying to help someone.

My neighbors across the alley always fight. I have called the cops several times when I hear them fighting and can hear their daughter crying. She's young, 4 or 5. I have never had the cops contact me after though I know they visited the home. I don't ever want to get involved in a domestic and there have been times I hear them screaming at each where I don't call. Only when I hear their little girl do I call. I don't have a point here really other than I would never run out and or approached the cops. I am in no way blaming the victim I just would never run at toward a cop in this situation. I have had to tell my son how to be pulled over as we are POC so I know the fear.

Yeah, check out the Zachary Bearheels thread. It's in "Crimes in the News".

I checked that yesterday and paid my respects to Mr. Bearheels. Thankyou for attention to it. Just terrible, :(

So being on medication carries the death penalty? It allows police officers to kill anyone who is on medication? This so lame.

It might be lame as smearing any deceased victim is, but it's what defense attorney's do and is their job. They will grasp at any dirty straws to throw in reasonable doubt IMO.

I would like to see the SW documents as another poster commented about upthread, because if the part about "body fluids" is in the actual SW what on earth would that be for? What would they be hoping to find i wonder? Or is that just standard on any SW?

He lived in my state and his killing was very disturbing and upsetting to the Native population here. Thanks for visiting the thread...Natives don't have a huge population to bring attention to when cops kill us, unarmed. And in general when a tragedy like that occurs, Natives will turn into their own communities and grieve, pray, etc. I am happy to see, however, the younger generation millenials are becoming more vocal and not accepting the continued genocide of our people.

Thankyou, yes, a very sad story of Leonard Peltier's incarceration. He is an old man now and his health has been suffering, :(

Just another liberal, pro-"refugee" attorney grasping at straws.

Nothing to see here, folks.

Just remember, Australians (as in Australian friends of mine) are watching this case with keen interest.

Justice includes Noor receiving his due legal rights and process that he is entitled to. His lawyer is just doing his job.

I'm Australian too and am also interested in this case (even though Justine was actually a US citizen) but IMO justice means more than kneejerk reactions, it means finding the truth via evidence.

.
Why do you assume that his lawyer is a) Liberal and b) pro refugee? I am Australian and I am liberal and pro refugee as most Australians are.

The difference is, most defense attorneys do not have a state police agency assisting them as they are trying to find dirt on a victim.

She was taking a risk by going outside into a dark alley in the middle of the night, where she heard a crime taking place.

I really hope that 911 operators do all possible to stress to the caller to stay INSIDE your home. Not at all blaming the victim here but had she remained inside she would be alive today. I also bet that Don Damond told her to stay put until the police came...for some reason when she saw the police she felt safe enough to run out ...she really wanted to know what they found. Were they going to circle around and go to her front door? I hope so as she deserved a report but sadly it never got that far. None of this should mean Noor is not prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law...
