i didnt think i would get so emotional when i told my husband Noor was found guilty-- i was crying--- that woman could have been any of us --calls the police and runs downstairs
into the alley and towards the po!ice vehicle in her jammies and slippers and she is blown away by a reckless officer who shoots for no reason---

She was a good Samaritan trying to do the right thing for the neighborhood, putting her faith in the cops. I am glad that she gets justice. It should be intuitive for most people that it is not right. It is definitely not about race. Half of the jurors are "coloured".

it is about time that police are held accountable.

Thank goodness as this will shake up your police training as well as making cops thinks are aren’t nt invincible in a uniform.

Lets see if there is any other fall out in the police department. The DA may not want to further antagonize the police, but I think he could make a good case for obstruction of justice against that Sgt.

the verdict has made national news with Lester Holt

I guess that one juror didn't have trouble convicting a police officer after all.

I so agree. If there is one thing I have learned it is that one can never be sure what a juror is thinking. I have watched trials where one would swear one juror or another was going to vote a certain way based on expression, when they took notes, more particularly their answers to questions before being selected and far more and have been totally surprised. When people predict what a jury will determine (sometimes even before a trial and before jurors are picked), I (usually silently) beg to disagree...

I would add I have seen jurors who could give world poker champions a major run for their money.

It will be of interest to see what sentence is handed down.

Third-degree murder charge carries a sentence of 10-15 years in prison. Second degree manslaughter charge carries up to five years behind bars. #NoorTrial #JustineDamond

There are no winners here. Justine is dead, her family and fiance devastated. Noor will go to prison for a while and his life is in shambles. He has a child that will have to live with this as well. And the Minneapolis Police Department totally trashed their reputation in a blatant attempt to cover this up. Hopefully some lessons are learned and maybe something good can ultimately come out of all this.

I'll have to go look at these statutes again. I would have thought they were exclusive, 3rd degree or manslaughter, not both.

The Minneapolis Police Department came out of this looking really slimy !

Respectfully, I disagree. There were a lot of wins today. Especially if the "Whistleblowers" who were brave enough to say that Noor was unsuitable for police work, were bullied for their unpopular position. I have done that, and paid for it by destroying my career.

Noor had a responsibility to acknowledge that he wasn't cut out to be a police officer, as did every single supervisor, and partner he had, who said nothing, when it was obvious Noor shouldn't have been a police officer.

Sentencing will be June 7th. Noor was immediately handcuffed after verdicts were read.

County Atty Mike Freeman says this is a solid conviction. He believes it will be upheld on what is sure to be a vigorous appeal. #Noortrial

Thank you, I wondered. I did hear a minimum of three on the one and then there is consecutive or concurrent. I had no idea of what the maximum was on each.

I am confused about that too..I thought they started from the top and continue down...when they find guilty on 3rd murder...I thought you stopped?
