Not sure what to think.

Last night the jury couldn't come to an unanimous decision. Now a couple hours later they have a verdict. Hopefully the jury is not deadlocked. But if that were the case I think the judge would tell them to continue with their deliberations.

My other thought is the jury must have came to a guilty decision.

Has this been a really quick trial?

No, took a week just to select a jury. Then the trial lasted three weeks. Longest trial for what was presented I have ever followed.

The jury received the case on Wednesday afternoon, and after hours of deliberation, they returned a verdict on Thursday morning. Fravel was found guilty on all counts.

First-degree murder carries a maximum sentence of life in prison. Fravel's sentencing will be scheduled for a later date.

Well done, Jury.

Now for the judge to hand him LWOP.

Madeline Kingsbury's father David, flanked by other family members, spoke outside the courthouse following the verdict.

"As far as the verdict...we're glad of it. It is a bit of a pyrrhic victory. We're not going to get Madeline back...Fravel can't be punished enough. We've lost a daughter, mother, aunt, sister. The children are scarred. Not just (Kingsbury's two children), but children in our extended family wonder....why. His life is wasted...ruin and devastation to two families...and there's no joy there, but we're glad for the result."

I'm repeating myself - apologies. The Kingsbury family has exhibited such Grace throughout this whole nightmare. Note they aren't gloating after Adam was convicted. Huge props to them, they will raise Maddie's children well.

I had no doubt the jury would make the right decision, the Judge will also. Adam Fravel will soon be in prison for the rest of his life. I hope he sees Maddie's face for the remainder of his natural life. I also hope his family has enough common sense to never be interviewed in the media again. It was clear that gross family dynamic was generational.

Oh I agree Knox …..I’m thrilled Maddie and her family got justice.

This was well worth repeating, Knox. xo

Again ... a man murders his wife, is found guilty and will be incarcerated for at least most of his life. Two littles are left without their mom ... and their dad, and while they will grow up in the circle of love that is Madeline's family ... they will undoubtedly suffer the consequences of learning their father murdered their mother. How does anybody recover from that??
Bless their little souls and all who loved their mom.
Honestly, how can anyone be so stupid to believe they can get away with killing their partner ... like just end the relationship and move on already!

It's just inexplicable.

“The privacy interests of the family, coupled with the potential emotional distress caused by the release of these graphic images, outweigh the public interest in their disclosure at this time,” Winona County Judge Nancy Buytendorp wrote in the order

“Fravel will be sentenced in Winona on December 17. Fravel was convicted of two first degree murder charges and faces life in prison”

I smile every time I read this!

Great article with behind the scene information while the investigation was ongoing.

It started with Fravel changing plates on vehicles in the driveway that morning. Then further unraveled with his lies about where he traveled to after leaving the home. Turning off his phone, the location her body was found.

This was clearly a domestic violence homicide. He killed Maddie because she was leaving and he would no longer be in control of her. Fravel can and should appeal. But it will be a further waste of taxpayer dollars. Fravel and his family live in an alternate universe where reality and the truth don’t exist.

In the video, investigators also pointed out Fravel’s interest in the Gabby Petito murder, a case where a young woman was reportedly killed by her abusive partner.

“You’re infatuated with the Gabby Petito case. Your words. My biggest fear right now is that this is mimicking that case. The guy that is infatuated with it is sitting right in front of me. And he is doing a really a good job of keeping it together and I’m not buying it,” the investigator stated.

Maddie's family will have the opportunity to give victim impact statements at the Dec 17 sentencing hearing.
