Was hoping to do a little Google Street View surfing to see what buildings around her home may have security cameras, but the image is from 2012.
There's a Mango's Mexican & American Grill nearby, a car wash, a car dealer, a convenience store, a hotel, a storage company and apartments on one of the exits. Another exit leads to many restaurants. There is an exit that is more remote with a science center, a church and some rentals.

I think they do have footage of the van leaving and returning.

It's the bit in between that's missing. IMO.

Does anyone know how long it typically takes for DNA and forensic testing to come back? I keep thinking we should be hearing something but crickets. :(

  • #944
According to this article the average turnaround time is currently 142 days, including rushed cases and cases that take much longer.

You are right but LE has been very careful with their information and I wouldn't be surprised if we don't hear anything until a formal press conference.

I mapped locations and addresses posted upthread. Is this the correct address of where she was last seen?

If he has not lied to LE & told nothing but the truth. He has nothing to fear.JMO
They don't want him talking because he could say something to damage the integrity of the case. It is an active and fluid case.

The last place she was known to be alive was dropping off her 2 and 5 year old children at Daycare with her husband. She returned home, and at 8:15 AM shared a joke with her sister. Then nothing?

What do we know about her house? Her husband has been identified, the children are in safe care, he looks like a suspect. The backyard back onto highway 14.

Get the FBI involved if there is such a backlog. Holy Moly!
With the BCA involved they normally take charge & process DNA. They are amazing.

There have been cases where the DNA testing has only taken a few days or so and others that seem to take forever. It all depends on how high of profile the case is and what agencies are involved.

There was a case in Washington DC a few years back where a guy held a family of three and their housekeeper hostage, killed them including the young son, then set the house on fire. He did this to try and extort $40,000 from his ex-employer. It only took a few days to process his DNA from the curst of a pizza that was delivered while he held the family captive and was found and taking into custody less than a week after the murders. So DNA turn around in that case only took a few days at most since it took a few days to locate him IIRC.

Daron Dylon Wint (born November 27, 1980) was identified by police as the prime suspect in the case. He was found by matching his DNA to that found on the crust of a Domino's pizza delivered to the house on May 13, while the family was apparently captive.

After Wint's DNA was matched, a warrant was issued for his arrest on a charge of first-degree murder.[13] Wint was found and arrested on May 21, 2015, in northeast Washington DC, a week after the murders,[12] and was subsequently charged with first-degree murder.[14]

Hey Otto, great to see you on the case. Always like your maps.

An address for AF was listed on the Petition For Child In Need Of Protection. This address I believe is the same address where SS and LE went to pick up the kids and the same address where the grandparents live. It's just off Hwy 43 on County Rd 18.

I also believe it will be close to this address where Maddi will eventually be found, if she was murdered and her body disposed of by you know who.

Can you make a map using that address?

42227 County Rd 18

I wonder if the “roommate” reference in an earlier article could have actually been the home’s other renter (#467) since the house is a duplex.

Neither MK or the husband own the house. Winona residential sales records can be found on the county website and after some digging I was able to confirm (465/467) had last been sold in 2020 to an unrelated entity. So the house is a rental property.

In that case the landlord would have been interviewed by police too. Hopefully the landlord can help the investigation if they are aware of any past incidents between the couple or anything else that's worth reporting to the police.

They were never married. He is most often refereed to as "Father of the Children". Ex-boyfriend would be fitting as well.

That explains why police were interested in the Fillmore County and Hwy 43 area.
