If nearly 2000 people showed up yesterday and they searched for 8 hours that is est 16,000 man hours devoted to finding Maddi by volunteers. This is incredible and amazing! I feel confident that she's going to come home to her loved ones, it's just a matter of when. I pray it's soon!

A news release from the Winona Police Department says that a search party organized on Friday to help find 26-year-old Madeline Jane Kingsbury brought more than 1,860 volunteers.

Officials are looking for more volunteers to continue the search until 5 p.m. Saturday.

"The officials are looking for individuals over 18 years of age to walk areas that are rough terrain and long distances," the release said. "Please understand that if you volunteer, we need to have individuals that can meet these requirements: wear appropriate clothing and footwear."

People can sign up to volunteer for the search here.

GOODVIEW, Minn. — Some of them drove hours to help look.

They came from the Twin Cities, Wisconsin, and across town. They took time away from work. They came on their days off.

They were all hoping for the best.

"I'm very hopeful, but obviously, the realization is that it might not be as positive as everyone hopes," said Courtney Lindley, a volunteer who drove from Onalaska, Wisconsin. "But closure for the family is a huge thing, too."

From there, the search began. They looked through residential yards and along wooded riverbeds. Behind sheds and underneath boats docked on trailers in the grass.

Volunteers Macy Houska and Rob Prestwood waded through a river stream. Houska had rubber boots. Prestwood didn't.

Matthew Kramer, one of the search leaders from the Goodview Fire Department, encouraged his volunteers to stay vigilant.

"This is the point of it: searching all the grounds," he said. "Don't kind of phase out and just start walking — keep looking as thoroughly as you can. As tedious as it is, and how (rough) the terrain can be, just keep looking."

Some property owners were accommodating to the search crews. Others were less so.

"We're a search team from the county," Kramer responded to a property owner who threatened to call the police.

Finding Madeline Kingsbury

“We, the Kingsbury and Naber families, are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love for our Maddi. Her cousin Suzanne sent this meme to us tonight. It touched us and we thought it was very much something Maddi would appreciate. She has a gentle soul just like Mr. Rogers did and this part of the world truly has become her neighborhood filled with wonderful and marvelous people.”

It's easy to begin to lose hope in humanity -- and for sure there's no shortage of grief and no end to the inhumanity -- but it's times like these, when good people with good hearts show up that make me feel proud to be human.

Holding M and her loved ones up.

I wonder if they are checking any air flights leaving the area.
There is an airfield in Mabel, a primary area of the search.

Is it possible for the public to check air traffic history? In/out of airports on any given day in the past? Have no experience with that type of searching/sleuthing but I know many here are very skilled at finding flight records so wondering if airport traffic from days passed is also possible to access.

I wonder if someone called LE on Friday, but a waiting period needed to happen before an official report could be made?
Yes. And unfortunately, how many times does it seem to be the case that that delay later contributes often to difficulties and trouble in getting things started.

I like that show called “The First 48” for a reason.
MOO.

Kingsbury works at Mayo Clinic and is a graduate student at the University of Minnesota, her sister said.

“This community has really rallied around us, and so many wonderful people have traveled from all over the state and beyond to come and help find my sister,” Megan Kingsbury said. “We’re beyond grateful, and we’re truly touched.”

The children’s father told police he left the home in Kingsbury’s minivan — a dark blue 2014 Chrysler Town and Country — at about 10 a.m., and that Kingsbury was not home when he returned later in the day.

“We believe a van similar to Maddi’s van was driven on County Road 12 and (State) Highway 43 in Winona County, and then southbound on Highway 43 through the eastern part of Fillmore County,” Williams said. “Later a van similar to Maddi’s traveled back toward Winona on Highway 43. All of this occurred between approximately 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. We believe the van remain parked in the driveway of Maddi’s residence from 1:30 p.m. on. Nothing to date has indicated that Maddi left the residence on foot or in another vehicle.”

Authorities are not looking for the van. Williams said they searched it, and the home, and found Kingsbury’s phone, wallet and ID, along with the jacket she had been wearing the morning she went missing.

So was he still there?
Or
Did he drive another vehicle home?

This is a story we've all heard far too often throughout the years. She was looking for a new place to live and a work from home job. After taking the children to daycare at 8 AM, and returning home, she vanished into thin air. She left behind her phone and ID. That same day, the father of her two children (aged 2, 5) was seen driving her vehicle in a remote area between 10 AM and 1:30 PM, and then he parked her vehicle at home.

I suppose police know what happened, but prefer to have a body before proceeding with charges.
