Yes and an interesting element to this unfortunate case. And if one had access to a plane that could alter the distance used to travel or transport an item during the time window.

And if later used for access if any pieces of the crime or evidence might be later moved or relocated? Perhaps investigators have ‘eyes’ on any individuals or entities of interest. MO.

Hey all. Easter reminds us things are not always ways what they seem. There is hope. I pray for Maddie’s family.

I just read the police news conference (and heavy article posted here). I’m confused.

It says they BOTH dropped kids at daycare. Is this a fact? Was she actually seen at the daycare or only him? If she was seen, how was she dressed (ready for work?), what was her routine - to go onto work?

It only speaks of only 1 vehicle being seen (someone else mentioned that here) - Is it a fact they shared a car e.g. or live together? If not, how’d he get to her home in order to ride with her for the daycare drop off?

Boyfriend said he left her at the house at 10 am (and last to see her alive) in her van. How was she supposed to get to work since he took the van? And, what time was she expected at work? Was she already late? In the old days we’d drop our kids on the way to work. Then pick them up on the way home. If that was her habit she would’ve had all her things with her - purse, etc. Since it was stated she had “not shown up“ for work at Mayo it sounds like she was not a remote worker.

And then he shows up at the house later and stated she was gone but her stuff was there. What time was this? Who was supposed to pick up the kids and when that day? Was she a runner hence her stuff left behind (never mentioned but she’d at least have her phone on her) or was he concerned, reached out to her family and/or police? Who got the call from the daycare that the kids had not been picked up?

Anyway, I must be missing many key details because that morning does not make sense to me.

It is about an hour or so commute from Winona to Rochester Mayo. It could be just the commute distance as to why she was looking for a remote position? I would think Mayo would be a top choice as an employer since it's such a well respected hospital. I am here now for the care of my son and it was a challenge to get him in to be transferred from a hospital in Minneapolis. I have never worked for Mayo so I can't attest to what it's like to work for them but every single person we've interacted with appears to like it here.

I hope the best for your son. Prayers too.

One of the 'print' columns showed a dude next to a small aircraft - can't find it on retry - believe it IDed him as hubby.

Saw that as well. I don't believe small planes have to notify anyone at take off most times, depending on the location and situation. Just not sure, they are certainly being tight lipped about this "dude".

If Maddie worked from home the expectation would be that she would be present in her workspace and reachable by phone, online communication, email, chat etc,. LE is saying she didn't not show up for work. That could mean either remotely or in person.

We don't know her working hours either. Maybe she starts her day early and uses a quick 15 minute break or stays a few minutes later in the day to make up the time or maybe she has a flexible schedule. It's hard to say....

The children were dropped off at 8AM and she was back home at 8:15. It's possible the daycare doesn't open until 8. It's also possible she doesn't start work until 8:30. MOO

Its strange to me that she wasn't already at work by 8am, from home or otherwise, and still dropping the kids off after 8am. Even more strange when the baby daddy was clearly available to do that task. That is my opinion. I would like to have an explanation and I think the explanation may have some relevancy to what ever else happened that day. I don't think that an explanation is (publicly) available so I'm not asking anyone here, just noting something that stands out to me which, I think, is largely what we do here.

Absolutely! Probably the reason it doesn't seem strange to me is that I work in a similar type of facility, and the majority of our staff begin at 8:30. I realize it's going to vary for everyone. MOO

Maybe it's different in the US but in the UK our work day typically starts around 9 am, so doesn't sound at all strange to me.

Also, she was supposed to pick the kids up at 4.30pm. It's approximately a 1 hour drive from Rochester MN, if the traffic is good. So, she'd have to leave work at just after 3pm.

So, that really allows for a 5.5 hour working day, if she leaves home at 8.30am, getting to work for 9.30am (at best). A 5.5 hour working day seems very short. Was she on reduced hours for some reason? Or on flexi-time?

HIS excuse as to why he was out and about was that he was going to work at 10am. Did he usually start work at that time? It seems a little late. I'll be interested to know what his job is and his usual hours of attendance.

Missing Minn. mom: Search ends, investigation continues

The missing Minnesota mom was last seen dropping off her kids at day care with her children’s father.

The Winona Police Department announced the end of a large, organized search for a missing Minnesota mom on Saturday after more than 2,600 people spent the weekend canvassing surrounding counties.

The department said while they are not giving up on the investigation into the disappearance of 26-year-old Madeline Kingsbury, they were able to cover more ground at a faster pace due to the “incredible turnout” of volunteers.

Nothing was discovered or found during the organized search for Kingsbury, but law enforcement said it would continue to have agents from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension on the ground in Winona as an investigation into her disappearance continues.

Having more people out in these rural areas has been known to help finding missing persons.
