I am curious if shooter is a grown man or a student??

Based on the ages of the kids in this school, my sense is that this is going to be a grown man and not a student.

Rifle, lots of ammo, clad in black. Can't bring that on a school bus, and he'd be too young to drive. I'm sure we won't have to wait too long.

9:45 a.m. - An Annunciation parent who was sitting in the back pew at the 8:15 a.m. Mass said students were packed into the pews when a shooter opened fire outside the building with some kind of semiautomatic weapon.
“He just pepper-sprayed through the stained-glass windows into the building, 50 to 100 shots,” said the parent, who did not want his name used. “He killed two kids.”
“This is terrible,” he said. ”This is evil. I don’t know how you defend against this.”

NBC affiliate in Minneapolis Kare 11 said the shooting took place at Annunciation Church, located at 509 W. 54th Street. According to its website, Annunciation School is a Catholic Parish educational institution that services more than 430 students ranging from kindergarten to eight grade.

(KNSI) — Police and emergency crews are responding to reports of a shooting at Annunciation Church on West 54th Street in Minneapolis.

Sources say that authorities received calls about an armed man dressed in black with a rifle at that location, and this has been declared a mass casualty event. Officials say there are approximately 20 victims so far. Four people are listed in critical condition, and it has been confirmed that two people are dead.

Police are also investigating reports that an explosive device may have been placed inside the church building.

What a pity. It never ends.

Has anyone seen anything else about the potential explosive device found

Those reports are almost always unfounded. Nothing new in that regard though.

From the Mail article posted above.

Seven people were shot, one fatally, in a separate mass shooting near a Catholic high school in south Minneapolis yesterday reported Kare11.

Police said the suspect, who escaped in a vehicle and does not appear to have been arrested since, fired around 30 rounds from a high-velocity .223 rifle.

Authorities have not confirmed any connection between the shootings.
What?!

Yes, it sounds like the church service is for students and also the public.

I'm surprised there haven't been reports of a second shooter like there are in every other early reports.

I think as these shootings continue I'm almost just as disgusted by the news coverage as I am over the actual carnage. JMO

I don't understand. One or two shootings?
One shooting. There was another shooting yesterday that may or may not be connected, although law enforcement hasn’t made that connection (just some in the media).

Those reports happen because of confused witnesses. The difference here is that everyone was contained to one area, as opposed to a school or something where people are spread out.

The former lends itself to less confusion.

I have to wonder if there were security measures in place, as that Star Tribune article talks about the gunman firing from outside, through the windows.

Considering the weapon and the amount of shots allegedly fired, this would have been so much worse had he made entry.

Based on a shooting the day before, I’m thinking precautions were in place today.

What a terrible world we live in these days.
