MN- Minneapolis, mass shooting at church, multiple fatalities, possible explosive device found. Aug 2025

Here’s the Magpul assault rifle web site. A very deadly military-style weapon

Seeing what firearms they had the pistol and shotgun were relatively cheap. Pistol was under $250 and explains why it jammed. The shotgun depending on the model could be as cheap as $250 up to about $400.

They are definitely wrong on the rifle. Magpul doesn't make firearms for sale, they just make accessories, magazines, stocks, grips etc. They are pretty much the most popular aftermarket accessory company in America. Not sure if that was a mistake from the police or the reporter but im sure it will be corrected in the next day or two

Was there a recent case of a school shooter whose parents got jail time , i wonder if mom is worried about that angle
Just Ethan Crumbley but he was 15 and his parents bought him the pistol along with not caring about what was happening with their son

Edit. Forgot to add Colin Gray, the father of the Georgia school shooter in 2024

And what about
the father of the Highland Park shooter, Robert Crimo Jr.?
Wasn't he charged and pleaded guilty?

Here's the latest from RW's journal blaming the killings on RW's mother. I really think that she wanted to help and discourage extreme solutions that may be regretted later. Very tragic. Again, this young person needed therapy; however, as an adult, RW would have to personally seek it out. Minneapolis gunman Robin Westman blamed massacre on mom warning him not to change gender— and discouraged people from letting their kids transition

JMO.

as sick as it is... i'm glad you were able to share this news here. i saw it just moments before but was afraid to post.

Agree with the assessment. RW is seriously disturbed and strikes me as the worse type of chronically online edgelord. Even RW's online handle "@robinw1312" includes 1312 which is the numeric code for ACAB--an acronym used by other chronically online rabblerousers to mean "All Cops Are Bad."

This person spent years immersed in the darkest corners of the Internet.

When i first read of the shooting i had wondered if she/ he had mother issues .because of the targeting of moms workplace . Usually the desire to shoot children is manifested from a deep seated hatred of a female parent and also the happy child the shooter felt they never had a chance to be which if festers can turn into hatred at mom for giving birth to them

I can see that this seemingly has been the case through viewing the article re those thoughts .

Mom cannot be blamed here it would appear she tried her best and gave an honest view but still signed the name change to show the ultimate support despite her misgiving . This imo is admirable for her part .

I feel the shooter had serious mental health problems that may have began with the surging of hormones as a teen and its not that they didnt have the intelligence to know what they were thinking was wrong they did , that shows a person that was given oppourtunity growing up for awareness of right and wrong but actively chose not to reach out . One cannot find blame anywhere but within the shooters own mind

murderers have no self-control.
as much as they say they loathe themselves...
they love nothing and no one more than themselves.
I'm not sure I could agree with that they love themselves in this case. I'm more thinking they don't care about anyone, including themselves. That they are angry at the world because others get what they maybe wanted and don't or cannot have, and they never learned or no one taught them or they are missing something that allows the fine skill of "If you can't get what you want, what ways can you manage with what you have?" And it's a skill. Most of us don't get everything just as we'd like it.

I suppose the most disturbing thing here is that RW knew it was wrong. Knew it could not solve any problem. Would not seek help because then RW would be stopped. It's like putting oneself in a position where there was no choice but to commit suicide, maybe being unable to do it otherwise. And having zero regard for anyone, even including the family professed to love having to deal with the aftermath. (Much less those killed and injured, but they were not the supposed loved family). I love you, family, but you get to live with what I did for the rest of your days?

I see no love for anyone, no thought of the repercussions, just entitlement to do whatever. So very hard to understand. If only there were some way to do so and some way to help and stop this kind of thing.

This article says that the shooter may have lived with a female roommate at the apartment. I wonder if she paid the rent, since we don't have any information that the shooter had a job for very long. And the MSM is reporting that LE searched three residences following the shooting, so I am guessing they include the apartment with the female roommate, the father's home, and the friend that the father said the shooter was living with after the breakup with a romantic partner. The mother's condo would be the fourth residence that LE would be looking at, if I've got that right based on what we know so far from MSM.

"7 victims

still hospitalized after Annunciation Church shooting in Minneapolis.

Seven victims of the mass shooting at Annunciation Church in Minneapolis remain hospitalized on Friday afternoon.

Two days after the shooting,
six people remain hospitalized at Hennepin Healthcare
and one is still at Children’s Minnesota.

While Children’s MN hasn’t released the condition of the child it is treating,
Hennepin Healthcare says four of its six patients from the shooting are in
'satisfactory condition'.

As for the other two,
one adult is in serious condition
and one child is in critical condition."

Completely agree.

The mother apparently had her religious beliefs, as evidenced by her career in the Catholic Church. She is entitled to those beliefs, and yet she did sign for RW as a minor for the name change, etc.

That suggests to me that she really aspired to help RW, even if she didn’t approve.

It seems to me that the shooter absolutely knew right from wrong. That’s what was described in the journals and the bits I saw of the YouTube.

Knew it, fake apologized for it, but was actually gleeful and looking forward to wreaking terror on these children.

The mother right now is a victim. She must be in agony from what her child did, and now the coup de grâce of blaming the mother for everything that RW chose to do.

"Minneapolis church shooting search warrants reveal new details and evidence.

1756507314344.webp

The search warrants document at least 258 pieces of evidence in the shooting that left two children dead.
The shooter's writings have come under scrutiny.

A commercial van — a 2015 Ram ProMaster City — had been parked behind the church
with at least one of its rear doors opened and a rifle case visible to officers,
according to the search warrant.

The vehicle was registered to Westman's father, James Westman.

At the father's home,
police recovered a tactical vest,
two external media storage devices
and miscellaneous documents,
according to the search warrant."

why would the police be looking sideways at the mother. isn't it reasonable to wonder why... i mean, is there something special about her.

...

Is there a link that says that they are "looking sideways" at her?

So how did the shooter pay rent?
I imagine that he earned a masters degree in the art of Couch Surfing:

- Live with person "A" rent free as a guest until you figure out life (not going to happen anytime soon). Once person "A" gets alienated, its time to jump to person "B" for a while.

- If person "B" raises uncool questions about rent, its time to make a brief return to home base (Parent P's) house for a "re-boot". Things break down at the home base, its time to make ohh so "emergency" arrangements with person "C"..... .

Bolding mine.
Hmm.....

Was this arsenal being kept hidden away, or maybe the shooter had explained to others that it was a hobby ?
Some people do practice at shooting ranges.
Lots of questions.
Imo.

irc the parents of a mass shooter in kentucky 2023 didn't hide from police nor lawyer up. heck, they were on the today show just weeks after their son killed and seriously wounded others.

these mass killers are fundamentally all the same. what's different in this case... particularly with mom needing a criminal defense lawyer. if she doesn't want to talk to the press that's one thing.... but speaking to law enforcement is another entirely. i don't want to think she feels as special as her offspring did before killing innocents.

jmo
My guess would be that LE are looking for the $$ trail gathered by the killer to purchase the weapons ?
Did someone else buy them for the shooter which wouldn't be wrong, unless there was documented evidence of some instabilities.
But again that would be poor judgment and not a criminal liability.
Or, possible glaring red flags that maybe should have been reported ?
The saddest part is that it's very difficult to predict and/or prevent the next attack.
Imo.

Should any mental health issue requiring a welfare check or police call out restrict a person from buying guns ? . I know there is a red flag law but why does the red flag have to be major before its seen as a boundary to purchase ?

Surely a persons right to bear arms is in regard to protecting oneself but if that person is in need of protection from oneself why would gun laws allow that person to not only put themselves in danger but others also .

So it appears that the residences being searched by LE include:

-the father's home (about one mile from the church)
-the Richfield home/apartment (pre-romantic partner break-up living situation)
-the St. Louis Park home/apartment (post-romantic break-up living situation and residence of friend)

A tactical vest was found at the father's home.
And guns were found at the St. Louis Park home.

And the shooter was driving the father's van when the shooter shot up the Church. And the shooter's iPhone was found in the van parked at the church.
