I am from Missouri. Not close to Senath though. But I didn't read a drug squad was on the case. I do know we have Major Case Squads that include members from different agencies. So I think it is possible a drug investigator is a member of the team. Drugs and especially meth is always a possibility. jmo

The Senath Police Department along with the FBI Task Force, Dunklin County Sheriff's Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Kennett Police Department and the Bootheel Drug Task Force are investigating the case

Seems as though any kind of accident with a car would cause more activity, for someone to have seen something, than simply grabbing her, bike and all...or getting into a garage, i.e....and he is being charged with murder...

From the absence of details, all I can surmise is LE either has some strong evidence that he suffocated her, he confessed then became uncooperative, or he told someone who then told LE which led to his arrest.

Car accidents involving hitting a child on a bicycle would have left evidence both at the scene and on his vehicle.

And this will prove to be fairly unfortunate when he is incarcarated..... MOO

Good. A grown man suffocating a teeny 3 year old angel. Soulless. If he is the guy, I hope he gets harassed constantly by the big guys in the pen.

Does Missouri have the death penalty?

Dunklin County Sheriff Bob Holder said that members of his agency and the Dunklin County Major Case Squad, in addition to the state's Department of Conservation, are presently dragging waters in areas of interest that exist in Dunklin County and searching other territories where Rodriguez's body might be found. He did not elaborate on where the searches are specifically taking place and asked for the community's cooperation so as to not compromise the integrity of the investigation.

I think his kids are too big for the bike - a few years older than Breeann.

Oh ok thanks Belli, That throws that theory out the window doesn't it.

I have another question. If they have not found her how do they know there are no sexual assaults?

Thank you guys for your patience but my parents said they should have named me "Why?" LOL

Ok let me ask, since I've finished reading back all the pages of this thread, if they are looking for her and the bike that would mean it was NOT given to his children, wouldn't it????

Yes, I would think so... if he gave it to his daughter I would think his daughter would have it?

He's a neighbor:

http://www.dddnews.com/story/1753054.html

This is a pretty thorough article of the latest news with a photo of the sheriff, etc.

According to Prosecuting Attorney for Dunklin County, Stephen P. Sokoloff, who spoke at a press conference around 1 p.m., Saturday, Shawn Morgan, 34, of Senath has been charged with the felony counts of First Degree Murder, Armed Criminal Action and Tampering with Physical evidence in connection to the missing child case that has been covered by local and national media since Saturday, August 6, the day little Breann was reported missing by her family.

---------are we sure he's 43, as they originally said? this article has him at 34.

ETA----------just saw the D.O.B. in the earlier "vinelink post"------he's 43.

Maybe that's how they found him??? Maybe there was evidence on his car?

I think the info BeanE has from vinelink is correct - 43. I would trust it before I would trust a reporter. I bet they just transposed the numbers.

Honestly I don't believe the motive was to steal the bicycle, but something much more sinister such as a deep-seated hatred or he is a SO who has never been caught until now.

Yes we do.

These are really the scariest of all. Just a neighbor. No long record, not a registered SO, not family, just there. He could be anyone's neighbor.

  • #135
This is just freaking me out, if he is a "normal" family man with young children of his own...

Have they said anything about his job, or anything else about him?

what was breann's house number? how close did he live to her on the street?

  • #139
Correct me if I'm wrong-Armed criminal action means using anything anyone can use as a weapon and first degree murder would mean on purpose.

That's why I don't think a neighborhood with no RSOs is any 'safer' than a neighborhood that has one or more listed. I think a bigger danger comes from the unknown.

At the same time, I'm not one to live in fear and I don't believe in looking over one's shoulder all the time, constantly being suspicious. That's no way to live. I think that 99%+ of neighborhoods are reasonably safe, no matter who lives there.
