In our society of "no one needs to be accountable for anything," I'm not surprised they won.

Me neither. They are getting these little wins to try to take the sting out of the GJ no true bill

Meh, I don't think closing Clark in front of Ballpark Village is a big deal. That doesn't affect business at Ballpark Village at all IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if Clark isn't closed permanently right there at some point anyways.

I agree - eventually it will become a park. You Must Have A Ticket to be at BPV area will hurt BPV businesses for those who don't have a ticket but want to watch the big screen (unless the other side of BPVs entrance is open to "the public"

Yes.
But also read Conclusion, pages 23-25:
The preliminary injunction prohibits LE from arresting or ordering movement to people "not violating statute or regulation and
who are peaceably standing, marching, and assembling on the public sidewalks of Ferguson, Missouri
." bbm
Esp page 25:
"It is furthered ordered that this order shall not prevent defendants [LE, mainly]
from enforcing the Missouri refusal-to-disperse statute, Mo. Rev. Stat. 574.060
." bbm

Sounds, imo, like the ppl standing on street can be ordered to move or to be dispersed. Ditto ppl in crowd w others violating laws.

"I don't want words, I want action," Brown's mother, Lesley McSpadden, said.

As best as I can tell, that's what they are protesting - against ODW being entitled to the same due process they would want for themselves. It's not like the protestors are saying let all the facts come out and justice be done. They're saying let all the facts come out, but regardless of the facts, you better indict him or else.

And I'm against them saying OW isn't entitled to due process as well. Being arrested is different than due process. One can be arrested and still not violate his due process rights. IMO, an arrest at this point, even if warranted, would only by symbolic as there's already a GJ hearing the case and therefore not necessary.

The guy on the sofa called LE and offered them a 'clean and clear' live stream that showed the protestors breaking various laws before their arrests. He made a video of his call and put it on his livestream channel. The protestors retweeted and were very angry. He ven received death threats. I have not seen him online since.

So he's another armchair quarterback that is trying to insert himself into the case. He can get the you know what out of my state and city as well. I really wonder how this would have all played out if outsiders weren't allowed in (means CNN too) and only real media reported on this instead of internet wannabe's like this guy.

Friendly Reminder!

Websleuths is a victim friendly forum.
Mike Brown is a victim and so are his family and friends.
Please keep this in mind while posting.

In our society of "no one needs to be accountable for anything," I'm not surprised they won.

So you would agree that FPD, County PD and the State Patrol should be held accountable for violating basic constitutional rights? If so, I am 100% in agreement.

A no true bill might be forthcoming. This Federal judge is NOT going to base its opinion on what may or may not come down from the GJ. The judge is going to apply the law the best they can. Otherwise, they'll simply be overturned on appeal.

"St. Louis Cardinals fans come out today and join us for all the fun festivities! Whether you’re going to the game or watching it on TV, get in the spirit at the Official St. Louis Cardinals pre-game pep rally! There will be music, giveaways and more!" ... Scheduled for today 4-7 MO time at Ball Park Village.

I pretty much have the local sports station on on the radio all day. When they mention protests even one time, I may think it will be an issue. Thus far, not one single mention. Not for the previous games and not for tonight.

I disagree that if he was arrested at this point, it would not violate his due process rights.

Se Below, from wiki:

[edit]
Main article: Due Process Clause
The Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution each contain a Due Process Clause. Due process deals with the administration of justice and thus the Due Process Clause acts as a safeguard from arbitrary denial of life, liberty, or property by the Government outside the sanction of law.[17] The Supreme Court of the United States interprets the Clauses as providing four protections: procedural due process (in civil and criminal proceedings), substantive due process, a prohibition against vague laws, and as the vehicle for the incorporation of the Bill of Rights.

If the rumors are correct about the forensics backing his story, then it would be a violation of his due process if he were arrested at this point.

The only 'evidence' that Crump and the family keep pointing to are the various witnesses who say his hands were up. But they only saw the end of the incident, and not the start. So they missed the context and the initial attack. jmo

"The Cardinals spokesperson says authorities will do what is necessary to make sure everything stays peaceful and not disruptive. As part of that effort, a tighter security perimeter is being established along Clark Street in front of Ballpark Village. People will need a ticket to the game to be in that area starting four hours before the game. That was also in effect for the World Series last year and will be the norm for the playoffs this year Fans will also face wanding, bag checks and some magnetometers going into Busch tonight. The Cardinals also tell us bomb sniffing dogs will be at the stadium as well." [fox2-StL]

Another article said Metrolink would be adding additional trains and officers on board, at stations, and at parking lots fans use.
