The reporter that I just saw on CNN was not AA/ And he was not really arrested. He was detained and then released, with no charges. Originally he was told he was 'trespassing' in the McDonalds so that seems like MCD's did want the people to leave. They were likely afraid of what a rioting crowd might do if they came that way.
the other reporter was african american, they were detained, both slammed into things (oh well it happens, sorry) then booked and jailed, only to be released when the police chief got calls from their employers, the police chief then said something like "sounds like the arresting officers didnt know what they were doing". if the police chief doesnt feel the need to defend his own officers work, and in fact calls it shoddy, then i dont know why anyone else would be quick to defend it...
