The officer's medical report will tell us a lot. Did MB break his jaw? His eye socket? Was there a struggle in the car over the gun resulting in a shot being fired? Those are all verifiable things that don't depend on witness accounts.
I still can't get over the absolute irony of the comments some of the protesters made on Friday night, complaining about why didn't LE do their jobs and stop the looters when, for the past week, large numbers of the protesters were complaining and yelling and outraged about LE's attempts to restore law and order - and these were the peaceful protesters claiming that LE had overstepped their bounds!
There were many protesters, as well as MSM bobble heads, who insisted that if LE would stand down, that there would be no violence - they blamed the violence on LE's presence.
On the one hand: "How dare they come into our neighborhood with their SWAT teams and tear gas and orders to disperse!!!"
Then, when they were ordered on Friday, August 15th to stand down by Captain Johnson, and the neighborhood businesses were looted and vandalized: "Why didn't they protect & serve???"
The irony is indeed rich.
The Chief of Police confirmed the officer went to the hospital and the gun discharged in the cruiser. If he lied, I think we'd know it by now. Either there was a shell-casing in the cruiser or not. Kinda hard to lie about it. Michael Brown was an adult and strong-arm robbery is a violent crime, not some petty theft that is casually disregarded as a "mistake."

True, but Wilson hadn't seen it yet.
I agree. Just think of the living hell that Officer Wilson (and his family!) is being put through. These (mostly white) officers put their lives on the line every day to protect that town and I haven't seen any expressions of gratitude from Ferguson's black community for the work that they do. If the situation was bad for these officers before it is impossible now they are under the direction of Capt. Johnson who threw Officer Wilson under the bus with his apology to the Brown family today.
