Yes, I think that last thing you said. It's because you're not a black male (and neither am I, I'm a white woman) we don't fully understand. If I were the mother of a young black man, I wouldn't advise him to go to cops for help when he's in trouble like white people tell our kids to do. Really, that was a part of my kid's education - if you are in trouble, look around for a mother with children or a cop or security guy. I wouldn't give that same advice if my son were Black.
YouTube Dave Chapelle. He's a black comedian, and he's hilarious. Gentle, funny, sweet man. One of his best bits is Dave Chapelle and his white friend Chip. It's a very lighthearted, funny discussion of how Black young men feel about cops.
