I am not sure I should even post this....but I can't help wonder what the outcome would be if MB had shot Officer Wilson instead? Would we have even heard about it? Would the people of Ferguson want justice or would they just keep going on with their lives like nothing happened - just another cop dead - oh well. I agree that it should be about what what's right and wrong...but it has turned into something terribly ugly because MB happened to be black. All the riots, the looting, the shooting...and that's just tragic and sad. Racism works both ways sadly. It's really sad that we as loving and free human beings can not get past the color of people's skin and have equality.

Indeed. In Jerise Wright's case, I have heard the killer referred to as a "kid" and all kinds of speculation about him having to have been a victim of abuse himself or how else could he be so evil? And posts about how the adolescent brain is not mature at the age of 18. And even trying to blame his heinous crime on speculative (not a scrap of evidence) head injury. Geez! Where is the "what if" for Michael Brown?

He (Gabe Gaeta) admitted to brutally raping and murdering a six year old child. And yet, he is afforded more consideration and, YES, sympathy than dead MB. Who is just a few months older. And MB raped and murdered nobody. Why are people so desperate to make allowances for the white pedo rapist killer, but not for the black guy with a handful of cigars? Are cigars more valuable than a little girl's life and innocence? I guess so. :(

But he is slightly "different" than Gabe the baby rapist. And it's not location.

This is really just horrible and I am shocked it has not been addressed. :(

They broke the story about the autopsy and I can't believe they would post something this big without it being true. It would be highly irresponsible.
gotcha! thanks for posting the link.

Anyone who lied to the police about this event needs to be punished to the fullest extent IMO.

is the media staging area in a different area tonite??? Someone please answer this .....

Yes, I think there is no way for a reliable media source to know this. The grand jury hasn't even met yet...
In case people didn't click thru, it indicates Officer Wilson will be cleared. Someone must have misunderstood what "could" happen and posted this on the FB page. imo

Even if that i true it will have to go thru the GJ process imo

I think that is ok please delete if not and accept my apologies mods.

The fb page says they have just heard from a very reliable source that this shooting will be called a justifiable shooting. Officer Wilson will not be charged...

:thud: do you think this is legit?

I do. I also hope they have arranged for protective custody for Mr. Johnson and his family. It is a toxic environment he is in and it takes a lot of courage to tell the truth.

To me, this kind of protesting about an individual shooting incident, prior to any investigation being concluded, is bizarre. But if people want to protest, fine. I just wish someone in the position of leadership to the protestors and community would take 1 minute to explain the justice system. I doubt they really want prosecutions to be based on how many people yell for you to be prosecuted.

They are just conflating two entirely different things and no one is leading them to a sensible protest/action. I can already see many things that should be done in that community. Most importantly get out the vote. This minority majority city complains of all white leadership yet I read that the voting rate for minority community members is incredibly low. They could easily change the leadership in that town by concerted action and voting. No one is making the point that this change is needed and possible. Instead, what they want is simply a white officer convicted without regard to the evidence. It's so sad.

Jmo. That is where I think the huge gap is. I am looking at this situation- just the shooting of a man. But others are looking at what they believe the shooting symbolizes. With the evidence provided to date, my opinion is that this was not LE being racist. I think we should separate this shooting from the concerns and feelings the community has voiced and move forward. Even have separate threads. One for the MB case, one for the rioters and opportunists, and one for the protestors and their actions and goals. Jmo

I think what they meant is that DJ lied and MB did assault DW. So there is no way the GJ will be able to indict due to the laws.

While I wish he had not made the portions of his statement about achieving justice for Michael Brown as if a need for prosecution was already determined as warranted and appropriate, I do understand it is his state. If he stays out he is damned because - well his state and constituents are experiencing a pretty serious event. But by making those comments about justice in the way that he did he has only served to fan flames fanned to inferno by so many others before him.

But I do understand and cannot say I disagree with the general feeling of some following this case that there are far too many cooks in the kitchen who all seem to be tripping over themselves to apologize for a shooting they allegedly have not even officially determined was unjustified. Governor Nixon is just the most recent one to imply there was wrongdoing while not giving any clue how that was arrived at.

I think that was more the sentiment being expressed in the post you were responding to.

He should be issuing 2 different statement. One dealing with the unrest, strife etc boiling over in his state.

And if he wants to discuss the shooting, he should be reiterating to his constituents what the process is, and it could be long.

Instead he's fueling the flames.

Also, last night the officer was over the loud speaker was asking protesters to please replace and not remove the street signs, and to please not throw rocks at the officers.

If Browns friend was with him, and he was, when Brown went for the gun then lied about it...
Forensics can prove he lied, so can ballistics, eyewitness testimony...couldn't his friend be charged with some very serious crimes...???? I think so.

It would be in his best interest to tell the truth, avoid prison, be protected...

I was just thinking about that. He has to be scared to death.

Might I add they also claimed to have had the autopsy report on Saturday, and released it and everything was spot on correct.

yah, but, if DJ has admitted that MB physically attacked DW in an attempt to take his weapon how can that not result in DW being cleared via the GJ?

I haven't gone back to read all the posts on that FB page, but The Viper, an hour ago, reminded people in a post that they were the first to report on Sunday night that MB was shot 6 times and had mary jane in his system. Hmmmmm.

EDITED - I meant SATURDAY NIGHT- not Sunday. Sorry!

So, what do you think about the actual case?

I think there is no conclusive evidence nor conclusion as stated by LE. <modsnip>

He may have been "forced" to tell the truth because the ballistics came back
