Were they red? I've been looking to find out.
I don’t know, but I am thinking it is possible since the neighbors first instinct was to place cool towels on the babies rather than to do cpr?

makes sense. I just thought it would have gone along with the mom saying she she pulled them out of the car so one would expect heat stroke. I would like to know what they appeared like because the investigators said there was nothing obvious.

Unless her Jeep has an exhaust leak it wouldn’t be carbon monoxide. There would have to be a way for fumes to enter the ca.
Right. The car was outside, right? There wouldn't be poisoning just because the car was idling.

It's so strange.

Could it be that she was going to leave that morning with the children (I assume already deceased) but CPS showed up and she hid - and then had to stay home and change her story?

IDK!!

From what I have read, it is possible for CO to pool underneath a car that is idling outdoors then get pulled in from the fan - IF there is no wind.

We really need to know WHY that car was idling? To poison the kids? To poison the kids and herself? To keep the a/c going for comfort (if indeed locked out of house)? Because she passed out while it idled?

Either way, heat or carbon monoxide, I don't see how she could have been in that car with them and not suffered any symptoms.

This might have been discussed already, but since we're waiting for more info, I looked up weather information. Records show hot temps during the day, high humidity overnight.

For Kansas City, MO:
July 4: low temp of day = 73 degrees at 3:22am
July 4: high temp of day = 93 degrees at 2:43pm
July 4: highest humidity of day: 82% at 2:00am
July 4: lowest humidity of day: 52% at 1:00pm

July 5: low temp of day = 73 degrees at 5:28am
July 5: high temp of day = 91 degrees at 4:21pm
July 5: highest humidity of day = 87% at 4:00am
July 5: lowest humidity of day = 59% at 1:00pm

If an exhaust system has a leak located ahead of the catalytic converter, exhaust gasses with much higher levels of carbon monoxide may seep up into the passenger compartment.
But if this were the case, how come mom is ok?
Exactly, there would have to be a exhaust leak.

This is sad ... as to why he didn't look closer in the car: the social worker said "he did not want someone thinking he could have been prowling around cars out in a rural area," police wrote.

Also, "Samples of Boedecker's blood and urine were taken as evidence. Authorities also swabbed her mouth."

I can understand the CPS worker's position on this, being fearful that someone would think he was a prowler. I do not understand waiting all night to check, and not calling LE.
Not one single adult picked up a phone to dial 911.
Not the father, not the Grand Mother.
That's so much easier than calling CPS,and waiting.......
Especially after she went balls to the wall pyscho, and rammed his car.
Why did no one call 911?

Yup. Like I said, I'm leaning towards her doing this as an act of revenge. I wonder if she's secretly happy the dad is devastated. What's that called....dupers delight? She thinks she's pulling the wool over on everyone.
I did not want to go there, negligence is bad enough, but the more that the facts come to light.
It looks more like a Woman Scorned.

Thinking about her statement that her husband was in a field with another woman....could they have been in a field on the 4th of July? Was there a community fireworks event going on - and he was with another woman then? Or a picnic that went into the night? It's just yet another odd statement that he was "in a field," but a holiday event could be in a field.

Just brainstorming....

According to this obituary, they passed away on the 4th. So that would mean the domestic violence happened on the night of the 3rd. Of course, there could have been some early celebration or gathering with friends. If that's the case and the altercation happened in front of others, then someone who witnessed it might have called the hotline. That makes a little more sense because if they were partying, they might not want to wreck everything by having the cops arrive. So they may have called the hotline instead.

Aha, thanks! I had the timeline mixed up, thinking the children passed away the night of July 4/early morning of July 5.

Perhaps there was a party "in a field" on the 3rd, given that most people probably had July 4th as a holiday from work.

jmopinion, thinking aloud at this point

I'm so confused. One article says the mom went outside to find them unresponsive. Another says they were all asleep in the car and upon her awakening they were unresponsive. Another says she found them inside the home unresponsive. Another says she lost her house key and that is why the slept in the car. Another says when the dad left they were in the house. Another says she put them in the car so they didn't hear her and her man arguing. Gah!

I think there’s a little bit of truth to all of it. What actually happened is some where in the middle.

This is actually helpful to see all this in one place - thanks.

Theres been talk of her sleeping in the car at night time with the kids because there was no air conditioning in the house. On another note im quite surprised that nobody has brought up the fact that xanax and at least one other prescription (that im not familiar with) was found. It actually makes perfect sense to me that she passed out in the car and possibly didnt hear anything if she was on xanax. I wouldnt think they would give a breastfeeding mother a prescription for that so it quite possibly would be purchased on the streets. Also explains comments from friends that shes changed recently and also explains her appearance in her mugshot compared to past photos of her. IF these pills were bought off the streets I highly doubt she took them as directed. Xanax is the real deal!! I personally can take one and within 30 minutes im out. Like out out. Dont even know my name passed out for 12 hours wake up on the couch with a bruised hip from not moving the whole time! I think those pills actually have a lot to do with what happened.
