I'm thinking this child was abused and died from neglect in a care facility. She had a mild case of spinal bifada. Maybe her parents turned her over to the state because they were unable to care for her. I'm not sure if a mild case of spinal bifada would be disabling enough that she needed to be in a care facility. I don't know if her condition was bad enough for a wheelchair, etc.

I think her parents were dead or in prison possibly crack addicts from Chicago so she was left at a orphanage/care facility or with custodians. She was not neglected at the time of her death though and it's uncertain wether the spinal bifada was a issue for her. A possible scenario is she either ran away from that place and met the wrong persons or someone close to her, perhaps even from the care facility introduced her to her killer. She was raped and murdered as we know not neglected to death. She was also not from the st Louis area. My guess she's from Chicago.

Could also be a situation like NY's baby Hope (Google search) who was killed by a cousin.
Cousin Arrested in ‘Baby Hope’ Killing After 22 Years

We have isotopes, info is below

Doe network

Full Anthropology exam and isotope analysis completed by NCMEC and the Smithsonian. Advanced forensic testing of her bones has also suggested that the female was not originally from the local St. Louis area but possibly spent most of her childhood in the following states: Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Indiana, and West Virginia.

Additional tests showed that the victim may have also been from the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Texas, Louisiana and Tennessee.

OT: I'm glad Baby Hope's case has been solved, but it's despicable that it was her cousin who killed her, and, with help of another cousin, disposed of her.
I love my brother, but no way would I have covered up for him if he'd done something like that!

I've seen that before and its really confusing. It's based on the minerals of the water that she had been drinking. Either she was from the midwest or from the south, or she's from the south originally but later spend significant time in the midwest?.

There must've been a way to narrow it down. No way the water is the same in say Michigan and South Carolina. Let alone Michigan and Ohio? And why is not Illinois there? is that 100%?

Something tells me however she came from a big city close to St Louis because 1. thats where most people live, especially black urban youth. 2. Its suspected she recently arrived at St Louis so coming from a far is out of it. So it must be somewhere quite close.

**I-70 is a straight shot to St. Louis...The dates are off but she could've been kept a few years...

I don't think Vernon did this crime. Yes, it's sloppy, but if they cannot find a head and a well cleaned crime scene, that is unlike Vernon.

I agree. To be executed for murdering a young girl in front of his children and tossing her in the trash is a much sloppier M.O. than what we see with STL JD. Whomever killed JD was actively trying not to get caught. Though Vernon lived very close to where JD was found.

This girl needs to go home. It IS our job to bring her home. We need to do something for this baby girl. Why was she in St. Louis? Who killed her? It is time for 2019 to be her year.

Are we positively sure she's even black? Decomposition could've changed her skin tone.

Looking at the ends of the rope - it appeared to be frayed. That was a concept taught to one of my friends when they were in the BSA. They'd use fire to fray the rope. In fact, there was a boy scout camp not too far from where Jane Doe's body was found.
