I just saw this news less than an hour ago. Such devastation, this is horrifying.

My thoughts and prayers are with all those effected. Special prayers to our Websleuths members located in or near the areas involved. I can't even imagine hearing that sound coming towards you, especially without warning as for some people.

sincerely,
fran

My cousin is there. Came out of her basement with house completely demolished. Posted a pic on Facebook then went silent. So glad she and family survived. Hope to hear something tomorrow.

Seeing a hospital that has cared for so many - not only from Joplin, but from countless area smaller towns in KS, OK and MO - absorb this great blow is, to an area resident like me, shocking. Prayers for the patients, the nurses, the doctors, the staff at St. John's.

This used to be a Home Depot http://twitpic.com/51djb2

They say the death toll could easily surpass 100. And there are many gaslines which could explode.

Al Roker on the Today Show is saying there are storms and heavy rain heading toward Joplin through Weds. He also says there's no place to take shelter, as everthing is destroyed.
