Here's the meat of the interview posted here
http://www.supertalk.fm/gallorecap-february-27th/, transcribed... between Paul Gallo (PG) and John Champion (JC)
(starting around 1:25)
JC: ...We know she was on the scene where she was found at 7:30, and the call came in at around 8:00. But from 6:30 to 7:30 we're attempting at this point to fill in those gaps.
PG: So you did, a little bit... as a matter of fact, you said that at 7:15 or 7:13 she was on the phone with her mother?
JC: It was her mother...of course they just could talk for very briefly, and no indication during the phone call of where she was, so, you know, we're pulling out just trying to fill the gap where she was, and we're hoping if we can, that's gonna tell us the answer.
PG: At 7:13, which means, that was the last phone call...did her mother say anything, where was she at 7:13, can you pin that down?
JC: Where was she, is that what you said?
PG: Yeah, did her mother say where she was at 7:13?
JC: No, there was no indication of where she was in that phone call, it was just a brief phone call between her and her mother, there was no indication of where she was.
PG: Is there any other news out there? I mean, are you more hopeful, the same, status quo...or where are we now, as far as the investigation is concerned?
JC: I mean I think at this point we're still status quo....I mean, we're...you know, it's taken us a lot of hard work to get to the point where - I know a lot of folks don't think that, but it's taken us a lot of hard work to get to the point where we've narrowed it down to a one hour period...and that's what we're attempting at this point to fill in the blanks in that one hour period. And we do believe if we can, that's gonna tell us who did this.
PG: You had a scope of some suspects or at least people of interest, I wouldn't call them suspects, but people of interest, and that's probably narrowed down...is that the case? No new people being added to that, but the same people of interest, and maybe narrowing that down?
JC: I really can't say that, ummm...you know quite frankly, the whole book is still open(?), as far as...you know, we'll get a good lead and we'll follow it down and then all of a sudden you know, kinda...(hits us in the face with it?)... and so, you know, other than, than... you know, a few people that we had thought might've had something to do with it, we're really not in a position to name persons as a suspect...you know, we've obviously got our eyes on some people, but that's all I can say.
PG: Let me ask you a question, and I don't want this to be taken the wrong way...
JC: Okay...
PG: But I know that there are, you guys look at every possible scenario, especially, the more the mystery deepens, the more scenarios you look at.
JC: Yes.
PG: Has the scenario ever - and again, please don't take this the wrong way - has the scenario ever been part of this equation, that it may have been an accident? Or, you know...some...in any form?
JC: No.
PG: (echoing JC's answer) No, okay.
JC: And there are some reasons that I can't get into of why that is. But from an evidentiary standpoint, we do not believe at all that it was an accident.
PG: Okay, but at least you do recognize that that was one of the things that you guys made sure that, that was taken out of the picture...okay.
JC: Oh yes, absolutely, yes yes yes, that was discussed very very early on...um, you know, was it an accident, could it have been a possible suicide... and just, because of the layout of the crime scene, the layout of the, the evidence that we've located, it just doesn't match that at all.
...
PG: Well, I wish there was more to talk about, but that's basically it. Is the FBI, and everybody else, is still on the scene?
JC: Everybody is still on the case. We still have...the Sheriff's department is working on the case, the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, we've got the U.S. Marshalls, the FBI, the ATF, and the U.S. Attorney's Office is also helping us.
