Toxicology always seems to take the longest. Many, many samples from the body, huge amount of paper trail, comparison against all drugs(medicine cabinet at home, purse), then illegal, etc., qualitative and quantitative analysis....

It can literally take months. IIRC MS is opening or just recently opened a new crime lab in Jackson and that could play in to timing although I wouldn't expect it to.

Remember autopsy Forensic toxicology testing is much different and involved than say an Emergency Room Clinical toxicology screen/test or an Employment quick screen for illicit drugs.

De javu, imo...

Nursing student Megan Sharpton, of Tullahoma, TN was found dead by a passing driver near the Awalt Bridge in July 2012. Police said she was murdered and her body was set on fire to cover up the crime, but the fire instead preserved DNA evidence that prosecutors say matched Jones.

Jones was charged with first-degree murder, felony murder, two counts of especially aggravated kidnapping and two counts of aggravated rape.

I apologize if this has already been discussed, but has the person who called this into 911, been identified?
TYIA.

Why would they need to be publicly at this point?

Maybe he was hearing the med helicopter. There isn't any mention of where/ when it showed up to transport Jessica.

I did read it said she was transported to the church parking lot (next to the fire station) where she was transported to hospital via helicopter. Can't find the link right now as I'm not on my computer but I will find it and post it later, and add it to the map.

Jessica Chambers' father to her killer: 'They're coming for you.'

"To the person that done this: They're coming for you. They're working day and night, day and night, away from their own families," Ben Chambers said.

Jessica Chambers' father said when the person who killed his little girl is found, he hopes they put them in solitary confinement, and he made a vow.

"Because I promise as long as I have breath in me I can talk to people and make sure they're not comfortable in there," Ben Chambers said
"Everyone I look at, I'm wondering, 'Do you have anything to do with it?"...
"This hasn't just messed up my life, it's messed up everyone's life."...
"It's the whole community, the whole world coming together. I believe something good has to end up coming from this."
Mr. Chambers range of emotion, their family, friends and community holding on, thanking others, their patience. Hope their torment begins to heal as justice is rendered.

"The final results of the autopsy might not be available for about six weeks, Champion said, but officials have what they need to know what happened to the teen before her tragic burning death earlier this month." from the article posted upthread

:gaah:
BBM this wording clearly indicates that LE has clear evidence of what was done to JC prior to being lit on fire. Whether it references accelerant(s), physical assault, sexual assault, that she was bound, etc we will have to trust that LE knows what they are doing with this evidence and will be able to charge someone with this crime.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Locard's_exchange_principle

Forensics; 'The Silent witness'...

Locard's exchange principle: 'The theory that anyone, or anything, entering a crime scene both takes something of the scene with them, and leaves something of themselves behind when they leave'.

"Wherever he steps, whatever he touches, whatever he leaves, even unconsciously, will serve as a silent witness against him. Not only his fingerprints or his footprints, but his hair, the fibers from his clothes, the glass he breaks, the tool mark he leaves, the paint he scratches, the blood or semen he deposits or collects. All of these and more, bear mute witness against him. This is evidence that does not forget. It is not confused by the excitement of the moment. It is not absent because human witnesses are. It is factual evidence. Physical evidence cannot be wrong, it cannot perjure itself, it cannot be wholly absent. Only human failure to find it, study and understand it, can diminish its value."

BTW I did read an article that said JC's mom talked to her in the hospital before she was moved. I will try to find it. JC was able to say "I love you and I'll see you soon" before being moved to another part of the hospital. She if her mom is correct in saying that, JC could have told many people who did this.

<sniped>

Before she died at the hospital, the teen tried to tell responders who killed her, her father told CBS affiliate WREG.

Authorities say initial autopsy results reveal that Jessica died from severe burns that covered 98 percent of her body.

Lisa Chambers said she last spoke to her daughter on the phone around 6:48 p.m. Jessica told her she was going to get something to eat, she told the station.

"[She] said 'Bye, I love you, Mama. See you in a little while.' Next time I seen her, she was in the Med," Chambers said.

THANK YOU so very much for that!! The volume of information I just can't wade through it all. Well, I can scratch that off my list. I like that people are coming forward to clear their name. This is a small, small town right? I thought I read pop. 500? Unbelievable.
bbm

Yes, hoping ppl come forward to speak to FBI, MBI, ATF (maybe local LE) and tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
Also hoping justice will not depend on shady ppl who want to trade their dodgy 'info'
for reduced charges or sentences on other charges they are facing.
Happens too often.

Holly Bobo is a young lady who disappeared and was later found dead not too far from Courtland. Decatur TN IIRC

You know what's even closer to Courtland, MS? Selmer, TN. Walking Tall country. Where's Buford Pusser when you need him? OMG I just looked on Wikipedia....he died in a very similar way to the way Jessica did WHAT THE WHAT?

"Pusser died on August 21, 1974 from injuries sustained in a one-car automobile accident. Earlier in the day, Pusser had contracted with Bing Crosby Productions in Memphis to portray himself in the sequel to Walking Tall. That evening, returning home alone from the McNairy County Fair in his specially and powerfully modified Corvette, Pusser struck an embankment at high speed that ejected him from the vehicle. The car caught fire and burned."

Thanks. That's the first info I ever heard on that.

Here is the link

"Jessica Lane Chambers, 19, 1024 Carlisle Road, Courtland was transported by ambulance to the parking lot at the Courtland Baptist Church where a waiting Air Evac helicopter carried her to the Med in Memphis."

I just hope the autopsy points clearly to what happened.

Not unheard of. We live in a small town that is similar in population and vegetation. AirVac lands at the elementary school parking lot (next door to the fire station). There is no other safe place to drop the copter.

That poor girl never stood a chance of escaping criminality and its consequences. Dad can blubber all he wants, but I imagine that much of his emotion is GUILT. JMO

Darkstar105, it's a small world. I attended Central high school in Savannah, TN, with Buford Pusser's daughter. After his death, TN Guv Blanton, issued her a driver's license at the age of 15 to drive his mother to DR appointments. The sign entering Adamsville says, "Welcome to Adamsville TN, home of Buford Pusser; The Sheriff who walked tall, and 1800 other happy people"..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adamsville,_Tennessee
McNairy County sheriff Buford Pusser lived in Adamsville, TN. The 44th Governor of Tennessee, Ray Blanton, lived in Adamsville and is buried in Shiloh National Military Park.
